Contest: The Root of All Evils
I am quite delighted to be participating in this contest in steem4nigeria organised by Mr @sahmie. Whenever we hear the root of all evils, our mind is quick to go to money. But is that phrase "money is the root of all evils" truly right? Follow me as we explore this phrase and answer important questions.

Money first of all is a legal tender that can be exchanged for goods and services.
Money is not the root of all evils, it is the love of it that is the root of all evils. And not any kind of love because I'm sure none of us hates money. We all love it and would love to have money. The love here is that greedy and corrupted the love that will do every and anything to get money by all means necessary.
Can you think of any examples where money has actually done some good, like helping people in need or supporting good causes? |

There is no end to the list of goodness money has done to people. The USA are helping Nigeria with money to battle some problems through the USAID. When a lady on twitter was shamed for waking to cook for her husband at 4:50am, many people gathers and gave her money. This woman went from a single room to a two bedroom flat.
When the Kaduna bomb blast happened last week in Nigeria a lot of people contributed money to help the victims of the incident.
A lot of people are having access to education because people decided to give their money for these causes. Money has helped alot especially when it is in the right hands.
How do you personally see money in your own life? Do you think of it as a tool to achieve your goals and create opportunities, or do you have a different way of looking at it? |

Money is important, our lives revolve around. The end of my goal is to have enough money to be financially secured and able to help other people. To achieve this goal such as getting education requires money. To start my business requires money. Everything requires money.
Have you ever seen situations where people doing anything for money caused problems or made things unfair? |

Yes I have been in many such situations, in a country like Nigeria where corruption is at its peak; people do funny things for money. Yesterday at the bank while we lined up waiting our turns, a security man took someone else in because the person bribed him. In school during admission season, some students pay money to secure admission thereby denying those who should have been admitted on merit from entering school. My sister has also told me about how sorting is rampant in the university, a situation where lecturers collect money to pass a student who failed a course. The university ends up producing half-baked graduates.

Sin duda alguna comparto la idea de que el dinero abre muchas puertas y es útil para todo, es triste pero la mayoría de dinero que tienes te hace una mejor persona, y no estoy de acuerdo que sea así 😟 hay muchas personas que no tienen dinero y valen mucho ademas de eso merecen el derecho de estudiar, derecho a la salud, a tener una buena vivienda y a comer bien. Hello dear friend, Whatever you said about money, you said it in very beautiful words. Like you, I also believe that having money is not bad, but having money in the wrong hands is bad.
