Steemit Engagement Challenge, S2W4 | Your dream about Steem/Steemit in your country by @davchi// 25% set to null
Hello friends, today marks another beautiful day and I'm glad to participate in this week's community engagement on steemit, thanks for patiently going through.
How well is Steemit known in your Country?
Do you think it's popular enough or there is a need for more publicity?
First I must appreciate the founders of this great invention for the achievements so far and how assiduous they have worked to keep the steemit trend on.
Steemit was introduced to Nigerians by @focusnow this is according to my personal research and information I got from him as he stands the oldest steemian from Nigeria since February 2018, and really no one knew much about steemit till around 2020 when they started calling for country representatives that will help in promoting the ideology behind it, which is either invest and earn, write and earn or both of them.
Most people who applied for CR as of then were accepted after which another idea of nominating City coordinators came up which was an agenda to foster and properly represent Steemit to the grass root as I once served in this position.
Nevertheless before the end of 2020, steemit has gained a credible ground in Nigeria although most people still have not heard about it because of the vast nature of the country.
On the other hand, with regards to steemit popularity in my country, I believe that no system has ever been popular enough as there are other blockchains that are erupting per day in a highly competent manner.
I also believe that steemit has a long way to go in my country because from the look of things, it is mainly young individuals that have come to understand how the system works as most of our old ones see it as a lazy man's business.
I see the need for a more and better promotion of the steemit business and this we have been doing as most of us did in the past while others are yet to go into steemit promotion. Even most crypto vendors don't really know what Steem as a local currency of steemit is and hence, there is the need to properly educate the masses on how steemit as a crypto blockchain works.
What are the ways you think the promotion of Steemit can be more effective in your Country?
This can include special projects you have in mind.
There are several ways to promote steemit and this is just an issue of commitment, probably as a community or as an individual.
First I must appreciate the idea of country representatives as this has gone a long way in disseminating the steemit tidings but not without some lapses as the masses are not properly represented through them.
The idea of city representatives also serves as they assist the CR in educating the masses on how to go about the steemit business.
Nevertheless, the most effective way that can properly enhance this system is through person to person mentorship on how this system operates and my emphasis actually from experience.
Back then in 2020/2021 before vacating my position as city representative to face my final year exam in 2021, I could count my ordeal with students as I helped them for registrations and mentorship and the most tedious of the whole process was mentorship as most of our community online classes wasn't making any better impact on the people so I then embarked on personal mentorship as I turned my room in the school hostel to steemit tutorial class.
Finally, for a better enhancing of of the steemit ideology, as I earlier stated, a more personal mentorship which could either be offline or online is the best medium in communicating this idea as most issues may not be properly addressed when you are taking an online class that incorporates more than one person probably because of your time or the assimilating ability of the person you're mentoring and this is from personal experience.
My special project for Steemit is not necessarily now I'm a fresh graduate that is about going for my Youth Service where the majority of people I can convince are still people of my class.
My project, aim and intention is after joining the working class, then I'll be more convenient financially and otherwise, I can then convince my friends to either individually or jointly invest in steemit as to become financial investors than just knowledge based content writers.
Do you think Steemit would be adopted more in your country if the points you listed above are implemented?
As a Nigerian, we have our local currency which is Naira and steemit on the other hand is an investment Blockchain where you are remunerated based on your knowledge of financial investment.
From experience, though, I met and mentored more students who were looking for a platform to invest, not necessarily their money but their knowledge. Most of them could not follow up with the system as they think it's biased though some others think it's time consuming but I was able to encourage most of them till the emergence of the academy where they earned their money happily.
I observed that over 50% of those I mentored did not like steemit because they have a good writing technique but the remuneration they were getting from the system and this gave most of them the confidence to continue with the system for a while and I strongly believe that once most of them joins the working class, they wouldn't only be content writers but real investors in the system.
Finally the adoption of a project absolutely depends on the person, or persons involved in the promotion of the project. For instance, then in the university I was able to convince more of my fellow students while even my elder brother and his wife I was living with then was so difficult to turn to steemit because they are working class citizens with the mentality that steemit is just for students like me. Now let's assume that I was then a working class citizen and then approach them with the steemit idea, they would have invested into it because someone of their class spoke to them and hence.
From another inference, let's assume that I'm a member of the presidential cabals, despite that crypto is banned in the country, I can easily convince them to secretly invest in steemit than anyone in the world would have done. So the adoption of steemit in my country also depends on the class one belongs to because anyone can easily convince people of his class to join this system.
How have you contributed your quota to the development of Steemit in your community?
This is really amazing, I could remember in 2021, even before joining the queue of city co-ordinators of steemalive, I was recruiting and mentoring people in steemit till I was fully nominated to serve as a city co-ordinator.
Though not really financially, but in terms of disseminating the steemit ideology, I really gave my best. I met with @whitestallion during my final year and that was when he gained admission into the campus so he wanted me to help him in promoting campus-connect but I couldn't do much with him because of my academics.
I could remember that I had to sacrifice my books most times to assist some of my recruits in their markdowns which were the major challenges they encountered.
Finally I promoted steemit to the core till I handed over to @kadosh and @ladyofpolicy to see to the progress of our community then, as I face my books squarely, and I'm not regretting bringing and helping people on Steemit because most of them have not stopped thanking me for the assistance per say.
Thanks for going through my write-up. I hope you enjoyed reading it, smiles bye.
My special invitation goes to, @successjoh, @talktofaith, @kingworldline @bukkyi4u

I have also heard about the amazing work that has been done by him on the platform in Nigeria. We will for ever remain grateful to him.
This is a big wahala when it comes to recruitment on Steemit. We in Cameroon have tried to device strategies to encourage the renumeration andthank God fr the curator teams now, things are better.

We are in this together
You are welcome
I actually admire the effort you made in Promoting Steemit at your city Umuahia. You were our leader there, until your studies could not allow you to continue. But I remembered vividly how you recruited many new users and mentored them. You successfully handed over to the next leaders that tried their best to move Steemit in Umuahia to the next level.
Your work still stands out. Ofcourse, your recommendations would work out perfectly well if we are able to see teams and hardworking individuals who will implement them at various levels.
Wish you the best in this contest. @davchi
I really appreciate your effort in truly going through my post, thanks for your pretty complement Boss.
It is good to see how in Nigeria, in addition to the RCs, city representatives have been established, which is of great importance for the growth of the platform.
A great job done from his position as city representative. We hope that this work will be replicated in all countries.
Yes friend, I also believe that there will be steemit CR's globally to properly represent steemit to the grass root. Thanks for your complement.
Yes, I think when you take it from where steemit was before in Nigeria it has certainly gained a lot of ground in Nigeria. From an outsiders perspective I think the number of users on steemit who come from Nigeria is actually overwhelming.
I must say they are hardworking too as their works can be seen all over the platform.
Most at times at the older generation don’t see it like that . But you can put part of the blame on the kind of system they lived in before. They are not very informed about the use of technology and trying to do these kind of things will be hell for them. Even though some of them still think it’s for lazy people 😂
Yes, they say trying to convince someone is mostly not easy but it is what comes after. You have been able convince them to join now you must help them so that they seee all the things you promised them. I always have to suffer these faith too as some people will prefer sitting down so that you can actually write posts for them. These kinds of people never seem to learn anything and you will always get stressed cause they will be under the learning phase for a long time.
That’s true . I think the best and most efficient way will be to do that through zoom where you can actually see those that you are taking through these lessons.
You really went through and I'm impressed on the point you picked. Moreso I must commend your effort in picking out those points thanks for the complement.
Mentorship and promotions from person to person is great, added to the idea of country representative it will be more effective, I'm glad that many Nigerians are already doing this including you. I hope our dreams for steemit is well achieved someday 🙏
Yeah, we all have dreams for steemit and I hope it will definitely be achieved someday. Thanks for you pretty complement.
Wow what a great contest write up I will try my best to join you guys in sharing.
Yeah bro it's necessary you do
Thanks
