A Day Like A Thousand Years

Hello friends, I appreciate every bit of activity going on in the platform, I am here once again dropping my article in this great community. I do hope you enjoy my article and success to all participants.
I set out on a journey on my travel to Lagos, few years back. It was a beautiful journey. I had to buy enough buy packs and was happily waiting for the journey to begin. I went to the store close by and brought myself a headset. I love music so the resounding music gave me lot of joy.
The journey was started already. It was a night journey. We were all in the luxury bus full of beauty. The air conditioner was already keeping the place cool. I started with the candy watching interesting series on my phone and dancing on my seat. There was a brief interruption the bus stopped. The soldiers came in after 10 mins to search everyone in the bus. After a long security search, we were let to go.
Moreso, we want for about 45 minutes when the bus halted again that night. I was so worried this time. It seemed like a thousand years already. I stopped the song and asked around about the issue. Everyone played dumb, I had to keep my curiosity in the box. We all came down. The tyre flat! It had to be fixed after all. There was a spare tire and with the aid of some passengers the bus was back again.
Furthermore, we started off again and it was now a smooth ride. I was so relaxed that slept off, about 2 hours later a big bump sound, threw me on my feet! I opened my eyes to people yelling. I felt it was a dream but it wasn't. I looked through the rear on my glass and saw 2 hefty men on mask. Was it what I was thinking lots of thoughts flashed my mind. I didn't want to get robbed again. The soldiers were on patrol a few miles back, why all this?
I heard a croaked voice stating that the bus on a heist and everyone should come out in a single file, one by one we walked out the bus with our phones and accessories in our hand. The gum in my mouth turned butter almost immediately, I spat it out in disgust and knew it was upon us. We were rough handled. A guy with an iPhone 13 pro tried running through the words, but a shot in the air, it stopped him dead in his tracks. He retraced his footsteps and came back to the spot.

It was a day like a thousand years, thy took turns to rob each and every member of the 100 seaters luxury bus. It was a marathon, I submitter without hesitation and that was so painful. The trauma flashed my mind while on the seat in the bus. I starred into space and couldn't sleep or talk to anyone or was a painful day. The bus was now moving slowly I had no other option but to accept my fate.
It was almost dawn and we all looked like sacred cows, som had injuries and others kept cursing. The journey was like of a thousand years. I couldn't believe my eyes after al. We got to a checkpoint almost close to our destination. The cops there asked the driver for a gate-pass. He insisted that we were robbed. He was asked to come down and argument took toll.
Finally we were left to go after nothing was found on the driver. This is indeed an occurrence to get me almost in tears. I lost my gadgets to the hoodlums and luckily I had money to fend myself for a few weeks. My uncle accepted me and made sure I had a good treat. They were all sorry for me but that day remained like a thousand years to me.

Traveling isn’t an easy journey at all that’s why we have to pray and keep hope alive for a journey mercy (successful).
It’s a good thing no life was lost and too bad the officers at the checkpoint didn’t add anything relevant they always on demand.

I am so sorry about what you experienced on that very journey. Embarking on a journey in the night itself is being on a journey for a thousand years, let alone encountering what you encountered during the journey. Being robbed is not a nice experience; I can imagine how your heart was pounding in fear; this was indeed a day like a thousand years ago. That was actually terrible 😔,I feel your pain,that means your headset was stolen from you, the only thing that gave you joy while embarking on a journey, it can be frustrating, it really looks like a thousand years.
