Change is one thing we know is constant as long as we live. It has become so that once one generation passes, new things come up for the next generation.

In my generation, there are so many things that were trending and making waves, but today, they are seen as "old school." Change is one thing we can't stop from happening. Even in human life, there comes a time when you want to change a certain behavior or attitude.

Mention 5 things that was there in your country 10 years back that isn't here now?

There are a lot of things that have changed in my country, including some friends that I know. Since I'm going to share just 5, I will list them down...

The first would be Nigeria kobo. Formally, in my country years ago, we used the kobo money to trade in all places within the country, but today, there is nothing like kobo. The government banned it and brought out notes, which are currently in existence.

Secondly, change of paper money to polima. It was as if the government of my country wanted more for the country, and they decided to change our peaceful paper money to polima, which became worse for all citizens because once these polima money tears can't be fixed, they are condemned.

Another one is boxed wall clock. Did you remember this boxed clock that makes the loudest noise each time it is o'clock? My dad had this clock back then, and it served as our family alarm because everyone wakes up to its sound.

We have cell phones like the Nokia 3310 and the Motorola razor. Yes, these cell phones were in existence back then, and I used the Motorola Razor as my first phone while my dad used the Nokia 3310. But today, we have all sorts of Android phones that help us connect to the internet.

The last is a biscuit called Vivian biscuit. This biscuit is very rich and tasty. It was one of the best biscuits we had until they decided to close the company, and now we have various biscuits with no quality all over the place.

Is the value of currency used in your country appreciating or depreciating?

The value of the Nigerian currency depreciates every day. I don't know why it has been so, because even when I was growing up, my parents and others never stopped complaining about it.

The Nigerian currency has never added value, and each time it does, the next day it goes down, and this keeps putting the citizens of the country at a high rate of living.

These changes have affected not just me but every citizen of the country. I no longer take the normal transportation price to work, it kept increasing every day, making me walk to work almost every day.

Since the price of commodities increases every day, it has made me reduce the way I spend money. I buy my food in bulk to help me save money. Eating out is out of my daily plans, as is buying water. Now, when I go to work, I carry my can of water to save money.

Change is something that shapes one to become better or worse. I have adapted to the change in my country because that is the only way to survive and be better. These changes affected me positively, and today they are better.
