Social media is the new revolution. It is the new web 2 and web 3. Social media platforms has made life interesting for many and has enhanced the social life of many which lacked it. Social media has made people billionaires, acquired lot of fame, reach out to love ones easily and negatively as well which isn't an exception. We all have lives outside social media and inside social media.

That social media life is what this post is deliberating on. When you see people on social media for longer hours, you conclude they are wasting their time but they may either be using that time and medium to make money online or learn something positive or negative.

Do you support that our daily lives should be put up on social media all the time?

There's a condition on this question and that condition has actually agreed with the fact that the contest hosts sees nothing bad in putting one's life on social media. The question is, all the time? I'll answer this question on three perspective. I won't say I don't support or I support but doing so has positive and negative effects of which I'll discuss them.

  • Tiktok is a social media and most tiktokers showcase their lifestyle, achievements and even go on live video for house , allowing the public see what they do. This isn't bad to a certain degree because these people putting themselves up are earning financially and they have the fame as well. So they are earning positively using social media.

  • Most times showcasing your life on social media can bring about jealousy and envy from friends and people that naturally don't like seeing you progress in life. They may go extra miles because of how you put yourself often in the limelight which can be risky and dangerous to you as well.

If we're putting ourselves up like our pictures and food, ask yourself, are you doing this to oppress or impress? That balance should be there as the world is very wicked. Many dislike when they see others better than them. So putting up our lives on media can be a green signal and a red signal.

Have you ever experienced or seen any case where a person has the habit of showcasing his life on social media and the effects turned out well?

Yes, I've experienced people put up their lives on social media and it turns out well because he places limit to everything. He's an affiliate marketer and as an affiliate marketer, he does promotion on his WhatsApp status and also showcase his achievements, videos of himself eating and lot more. He earns a lot doing this as showcasing his life is concrete evidence that the digital skill is paying.

All the guy will do is to restrict some people he doesn't trust from viewing his status. I see no harm in showcasing his life for his business, to earn in as much as he does in in moderation and cautiously. I've also experienced a guy who was a well known tiktoker in my school. His influence was too good and he would post the cars he has, the money and shoes even good he eats. In no time, he was kidnapped and he learnt his lesson in a hard way.

Do you think all the showcase on social media are true?

Not all showcases are true. There's this saying that We fake it until we make it. They fake their lives on social media as of they are really on so much money so that people can fluck in. Someone will tell you he owns plots of lands and that his father is this and that. Most times they'll spread rumours about a particular person of which if you don't analyse these information well, you may fall into traps that are not easy to go out from. So not all the showcase are really true but that's not our concern if it's true or not.

I know of someone who usually rent suit from a dry cleaner. He wore the most expensive suits bit nobody knew this guy was from a poor background. That's how he earned his popularity.

Do you feel safe on steemit with your information? What can you say about steemit

I think it's very safe because steem is more of a social media platform. You create contents to get paid. There's this particular content in form of diary game where I'll share my activities during the day. Doing do doesn't mean I'm showcasing my life on the net and besides, it's safe because it entails transparency. Of people's wallet is open to the general public, how much more showcasing one's life. Although it can bring out envy by people that surrounds you but playing low is the best for me.

It's not the app that makes our lives change positively or negatively. It's what we do on the app that does so. I invite @alli001, @kemsyluv and @zekanem to participate.

You are right my friend. Showing too much of our success can attract jealousy, as some may feel intimidated and will want to go extra mile just to see you fall. Yes while showcasing our daily lives on social media may not be totally bad, we have to place a limit to what we post. Anything private should be kept private

The question are you doing this to oppress or impress is a very important one we should ask ourselves whenever we want to showcase our life on social media. Because most of the things these people post this days are just to oppress others and force people into crime or fraud or olosho work. And thank you for your thought on steemit as a safe platform for sharing information. I wish you success in the contest.

I got so much value from this post, you have said it all, well I don't think I subscribe to that idealogy that says, fake it till you make it. I believe in being real, the truth is we could even find help early when we are real because those who are capable of helping may see us and help us but when we appear to be fine and luxurious we might miss their timely help because they feel you're the one who should rather help them.

I don't subscribe to it as well. Thanks for the comment

It's very important to balance what we share online. Showcasing has its good and bad sides. For example The affiliate marketer did well by being moderate, but the tiktoker faced trouble from flashy posts. And truly not everything on social media is true; some people pretend for fame and money.
Success on your entry.
