Hello everyone, How are you doing? I hereby welcome you once again to another week of the steemit engagement contest, on today's contest, I shall be engaging in the Steem4nigeria community to Prepare or Promote any Recipe that is Peculiar to your Country, wish you a Happy Reading.


What is that Special recipe peculiar to your country? It could be special drinks, desserts, or any other delicacy.


The Country and Special recipe In my country is the Jollof Rice and chicken, I am from Nigeria, so trust me when I said whenever there is an occasion in any part of the country, this lovely recipe must always be found on the menu.

Jollof rice and chicken are like a special recipe that fits in on every occasion in my country, I prepare this whenever I feel like doing something nice for myself, or whenever I plan on having friends over, and it also goes on all every special delicacy, I would say without no doubt that it is the common occasional food in my country, easy to cook and as well-deserving, and generally accepted in every part of the country.

The food goes with any sort of drinks, but most preferable on Cokes, This food goes as well with many variants, there is Green Jollof rice known as Fried rice, and several more best known to the women In the house, the food goes well for occasions like dates as well, where you can truly entertain someone by serving them the menu.


Is there any history attached to it? Explain.


Nope, I don't think there is any history attached to Jollof rice and chicken, just that rice is the most commonly cooked food in every household, so the idea of the jollof rice is to make it more spicy and easy to rock at parties.

So, I believe it is due to the general acceptance of rice across the nation that made jollof rice this popular, each part of the country has there special and favorites delicacies, such as the Yoruba's love amala, but in the case of Jollof rice, all part of the country has the same favoritism towards it, so, therefore, there is no other history attached to it other than its a rock and go delicacies, and it is as formal as it gets.


Do you think you can do without taking them for some time?


Well, it is just a menu on a menu list, so there is no big deal in it as I could easily decide to not eat Jollof rice or anything related to rice for some time, that's my personal opinion though.

But I believe someone who loves going on outings, dates, hangouts, and all that might find it impossible to deny, as there is every assurance that whatever occasions you plan on going to, Jollof rice is going to be served on the menu, so I believe people who love going out might not be able to do without them for some time.


How is it prepared? Show us the steps required for its preparation or you can buy from a restaurant and promote the business.


Well, the best that could be done is to describe in my own best possible way, to make a jollof rice and chicken, the first thing to be done is fry the chicken first.

So to Fry the chickens, You follow the Following step;

Step 1 - Get a kilogram of chicken in a market, then rinse it twice to clean them of blood, then pour it into a small amount of water and add the ingredients such as onions, Maggi, thyme, and curry.

Step 2 - After doing that, boil them for some minutes, at least it should be on gas for 20 minutes, by then the chicken should have gotten soft.

Step 3 - Then you start frying the chicken, to fry the chicken, You pour some amounts of Oil on the fire, then Allow the oil to get hot for 5 minutes, then set in the meat carefully across the frying pan, like the image below.

Step 4 - Carefully wait for the chicken to fry well, and avoid getting it burnt should incase it lasted too long on fire, after that your fried chicken should be set and ready to go.

Step 5 - Cooking the Jollof rice is very simple and less complex, you pour some amount of oil on fire, let it fry, then afterward, Pour a grated pepper and onion in it, after that, add the necessary ingredient like maggies, Onions, then allow the water to boil for 5 minutes.

Step 6 - Rinse the rice then pour it into the boiling water, which afterward you allow it to boil for like 30 minutes, mix the ingredient and rice together, the combination of that is referred to as jollof rice.

Then after doing that, Your jollof rice and chicken are ready to go, easy peasy!!.


What are your recommendations for others about this food


Well, this food is highly recommended for anyone who plans on visiting the country soon, it is a popular menu that can't be escaped from every part of the county.

It's mostly lovable even by outsiders, the spicy, the peppery of the rice is lovely as well, so it is of a great chance that if by any means you come visiting the country, you should try to always request to get a taste of the Jollof rice and chicken, as I assure you a great experience afterward.

Here comes my conclusion on this topic: Prepare or Promote any Recipe that is Peculiar to your Country, where I have easily illustrated and described the cooking of the Jollof rice and chicken.

The recipe is widely accepted, and the cooking is as easy as it gets since it doesn't require any extra power to cook, it is indeed a lovable food to experience for the stomach.

You have prepared one of my favourite dishes, jellof rice and chicken. I like preparing it on Sundays and sometimes very early in the morning for my kid to take to school. After eating this delicious meal, I wash it down with chilled pepsi. And your own you used coke, almost the same kibd of drink.

Ayahhhn rice and chicken. Me likeeeee. That's my first choice at parties almost all the time. I love with well cooked with carrots and curry powder and most of all the chicken 😅. Yes I love meat.

As a Ghanaian I have the right and must alsways defend the Ghanaian Jollof 😂.

Well I think ours taste better and I think the Nigerians borrowed this recipe from us but they will never accept.

Anyway am not here to argue about Nigeria Jollof and Ghanaian Jollof 😂. I must say that you have really friend you chicken well and I must say it looks tasty.

If you can accept that we have the better Jollof I can as well give you a few tips on how to prepare tasty Ghanaian Jollof 😂

Greetings and blessings bro, I must say you are a good cook, It shows you cook if not most if the time, at least sometimes you cook. The procedure you have described is a perfect way to prepare a jolt of rice. And so true that in every occasion there is always a jollof rice available.

You are right, jellof rice is for all occasion and every season, the truth is that the whole world cannot do without rice, i love the meat on the rice
