Assalamu Alaikum Sabaik,
We humans live in society, be it in the posh areas of the city or in the slums of the village. Whether we live in a village or a city, each area has its own characteristics that affect our lifestyle. There are many differences between cities and villages in terms of environment and facilities. Today's third week event will talk about Growing up in a rural or urban area. Thanks to the Steem4Nigeria team for organizing such a great contest.

Distinguish between urban and rural areas by mentioning three main characteristics.

There are many differences between rural areas and urban areas that affect our lifestyle and amenities, I will mention three main ones:

  • Rural area is a region full of free natural environment and natural beauty full of free fresh air. On the other hand city is full of noise full of dust and brick and stone buildings and full of artificial beauty.
  • Rural people are living in poverty and low income and the number of unemployed people is high. Income is high in the city and job opportunities are high as many industrial areas are developed.

  • Villages lag behind cities in all aspects of education, healthcare, transport, roads, networking and communication.

What area did you grow up in and why?

I was born in the village and brought up in the village. I completed my higher secondary education in the village and came to the city to study in the university. My father is a farmer so naturally I have to grow up in the village. I grew up with a relationship with the village field since childhood. I grew up in the natural fresh air of the village and the sound of birds. Even though I live in the city now for livelihood, the open fields and vast green spaces of the village attract me.

If you were told to move to an area where you didn't grow up, would you?

We want and are constantly changing ourselves to improve. Many are leaving the country to better themselves in life and economically. How many people leave their families to develop themselves and live alone to gain prosperity. People can adapt themselves very quickly in every place. I started staying in hostels from the age of 17. Leaving my family, the boy from the village quickly adapted to the bustling atmosphere of the city and became friends with many. I will readily accept it for my own betterment.

Are there things in the area where you grew up that other areas don't have?

I spent my childhood in the village, but what is in the village is not there in the city. My village has vast green fields which are not available in urban areas. In my village there is the security of a simple life and there is a sense of brotherhood in helping one another. I have noticed it in the city that no one stops for anyone, very little lends a helping hand when others are in danger. Although the civic amenities in village life are less than those in the city, one can enjoy free air and safe and comfortable life in the village. City life becomes more mechanized.

Hello dear friend, You have rightly said that the facilities which are there in the rural areas are not there in the urban areas and the facilities which are there in the urban areas are not there in the rural areas.

There is importance of both the places, on one hand the traditions are still alive in the peaceful villages whereas in the cities life is still alive. It has become more hectic in the city and no one stops for anyone. I would love to know your thoughts on this topic. Good luck with the engagement

Thanks for your valuable comments. Each place has its own characteristics and importance.

Hello @abdul-rakib

I really enjoyed going through your writeup.

I also like the way you differentiated between rural and urban areas.

You grew up in the village and schooled in the city making you to experience life at the different areas.

I wish you the best of luck.
