Assalamu Alaikum,
My country my mother we all love our country. My country People's Republic of Bangladesh is rich in many mineral resources in my country. Today I will briefly discuss my country Bangladesh and the mineral resources of Bangladesh. Thanks to the Steam for Nigeria community for giving me the opportunity to write about my country today in Week 5 of Steam for Nigeria Community Season 15.

My country is People's Republic of Bangladesh. Bangladesh is an independent sovereign country. It became independent in 1971 after war with Pakistan. Presently our country is progressing in education, technology and every other field. Bangladesh is an agricultural country. 80% people of this country are directly and indirectly involved in agriculture. There are many rivers in Bangladesh which makes Bangladesh a riverine country. Bangladesh is a very densely populated country. It is the eighth largest country in the world by population, although it is much smaller in area (1,47,570 square miles).

Bangladesh's main sources of foreign exchange earnings are garment exports and remittances from expatriates. Which keeps our country's economy running.

Bangladesh is a country rich in many mineral resources. The main mineral resources of Bangladesh are natural gas, coal, hard rock, nuri stone etc. Bangladesh has 29 gas fields from which gas is being extracted continuously. The first gas discovery was in 1955. The second largest mineral resource is coal with its only coal mine at Barapukuria in Dinajpur. Also, this country is full of various mineral resources including stone, limestone. We are turning from a developing country into a lower middle income country through these resources.

These mineral resources have been fully exploited.

Although Bangladesh is rich in many mineral resources, we are not able to fully extract and use them due to lack of skilled manpower. We are extracting small amounts of gas and coal in cooperation with Russia, China and the United States. Yes these mineral resources are being fully exploited as extracted gas is being used as fuel. Coal is being used for power generation. In our country, marine fish is collected using own talent and process. **Extracted resources are being fully utilized but extraction is far less than demand.

The current government of Bangladesh is very far-sighted and is working according to the plan to bring about better development for its people. Even if the government of a developing country wants to, it cannot meet all the needs of the people at once. The government is trying its best to develop us. There have been many infrastructural developments in our country including road bridges and river dams.

Welfare of citizens means improving the living conditions of citizens. Citizens of our country are now getting good electricity facilities, gas for cooking, metro rail to ease traffic congestion. Big budgets are being given to education and research for proper utilization of these mineral resources of the country. On the whole, our government is constantly pulling us out of difficult situations through its efficient governance.
