MenFun Contest #1 || My Cooking -Delicious Beguni

There are many traditions of food in our country, we try to enjoy the taste of our tradition and local food by tasting different foods in each season. Due to which I have been hearing since childhood that Bengalis are a food lover nation.


However, the new initiative of Steem Men's club seems great to me, because there is no community specific to men, but there are generally all communities where everyone can connect. After watching the competition organized by Steem Men's club, I feel a kind of interest in myself, due to which I am confirming my participation in the competition with today's recipe.

The recipe that I will present today is a popular item in our region, especially for the evening time. Moreover, it is considered as one of the items in the Iftar of the month of Ramadan. Because of it has a good presence in making iftar. And it is called Beguni in our Bengali language, because its main ingredient is Eggplant.


Let's see what is needed to make the recipe-

Eggplant
Gram flour
Water
Salt
Turmeric Powder
Oil.

Let's see how to prepare-

Take an eggplant of medium size, and then slice them thinly with a knife. Notice the image above, I made the slices very thin. Because of slices are not cooked very well if they are thick.

Then mix some water with Gram flour to make a nice light paste. Mix some salt and turmeric powder with this paste. However, care should be taken that the paste does not become too thick and too thin. Then the recipe will not be beautiful. You can understand by looking at the scene above.

Then heat it in a pan with some oil. Beguni will not be beautiful if the oil is not hot. So we have to wait a while after pouring the oil.

Then the thin slices of eggplant should be dipped in the paste made by gram flour, then they should be fried in hot oil. However, it should be fried in a light fire, otherwise the color will be lost.

After frying for a while, when they turn light brown in color and give off a nice scent, they need to be removed. We will put them down on a plate.

The traditional eggplant recipe of Bengalis has been made. The taste of these will bring satisfaction to your heart and you will be eager to taste them again. You will find this dish in almost every region of our country, especially in the evening snack time.
