Another option that now occurs to me for the start page would be to auto-populate it using the voting history from one or more of the steemcurator accounts, or a mix of that plus /promoted. Maybe the best answer would be to test a variety of options and select the one that delivers the best results at retaining visitors (or delivering account sign-ups).
I like this idea very much! Perhaps not only sc-accounts (over time, even the sc01 -certainly unintentionally, rather humanly- seems to have built up its own circle of favorites), but also the votes of some other "respected and proven" Steemians. This could be a code like: IF @1 AND @2 AND @3 OR @4 OR @5.... THEN
A lot of such decisive accounts would have to be ORed, because otherwise "you" can again work out how to land on the front page and draw your "circles".... ;-)
Oh yes, I would find a combination great!
Trial, error, evaluation, new attempt - that's how development/improvement works. The main thing is to get into action, everything else means standstill and standstill is always the end...
