Despite these efforts, the public health system in India faces several challenges, including a shortage of healthcare professionals, inadequate infrastructure, and limited resources. The private sector, on the other hand, is dominated by private hospitals and clinics, which provide a range of services but can be expensive for many Indians. Overall, public health services in India still have a long way to go to ensure that all citizens have access to quality healthcare services.

Is there any helpline issued by the government for the public, in the situations of emergency?

Yes, the government of India has issued a helpline for the public in emergency situations. The helpline number is 112, which is a single emergency number that can be dialed for various emergency services such as police, fire, health, and other services. The helpline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can be accessed from anywhere in India. It has been introduced to provide immediate assistance to the public in emergency situations, making it easier for people to seek help in critical moments.

Do you think these public health services could be improved? How?

Yes, India's public health services could certainly be improved. Some areas that need attention include increasing the number of health facilities, especially in rural areas, improving the infrastructure of existing facilities, increasing the availability of essential medicines and medical supplies, hiring and training more healthcare professionals, and implementing effective public health programs to address prevalent diseases such as tuberculosis, malaria and dengue. Additionally, it would be beneficial to introduce technology-based solutions to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and increase accessibility of healthcare services.

Which public Health Care Service will you innitate if you were given a chance?

If I got a chance, I would initiate a comprehensive rural health care service in India that focuses on providing basic medical facilities, health education, and preventive measures in remote and underserved areas. The aim would be to reduce the disparity between urban and rural health care and provide quality health care services to all citizens, regardless of their location and financial status.
