A flaming plea! But for what - or against what? We know the dilemma of the different ways of looking at the Steem and the very different expectations of it. By "we", of course, I mean all the more the Steemians who have spent years on the platform and have experienced and shaped its ups and downs.

I still very much like @jaki01's suggestion, which has obviously been put forward many times and in various places: a Steem segment for authors and readers and one for investors. One can interact with the other, but there are votes for the authors (according to the quality and value of their contributions) and a return for the pure financiers.

Personally, I'm always in favour of letting very different things live and thrive side by side - as long as one doesn't harm the other. Does this sound familiar to anyone? In our example, I don't think either party is more important or indispensable than the other. You could call it a symbiosis that authors and investors enter into with each other. In nature, this works very well. It's just that we probably end up thinking it broken...
