Insidious: "A Chilling Obsession"

Can something that sends chills down my spine, makes my heart race faster and leaves me sleeping with the lights on really be considered as a favourite? It though sounds contradictory, yet many of us have a soft spot for scary/horror movies that thrills us. For some people, they enjoy the escape from reality, adrenaline rush and the social bonding experience of watching such movies with friends and families.

My favourite scary movie is called "Insidious"

Have you ever felt like your home is haunted by an unseen being? For the Lambert family, this nightmare becomes a reality in the movie "Insidious" by Director James Wan (2011). This thrilling movie delves into the supernatural realm, scouting celestial projection and the hypothesis of the 'The Further', a real between the living and the dead.

Insidious with ease weaves together aerial tension and unsettling plates to create an unwavering experience of horror. The director of this movie, made good use of the long corridors, creepy sound and unsettling life which keeps the watcher on edge. The day I decided to watch this movie after keeping it for too long ever since it was transferred into my smartphone, I was all home alone. While Watching the movie I'd close my eyes, my heart races faster and sometimes the adrenaline is too much.

The general rating given to this movie is 4.2/5. But for me, I'll give it a 4.8/5. It deserves it.

Almost all scenes in the movie scared me, but the one that scared me the most is the part where the red demons shows out of nowhere making Josh as well as myself petrified. Josh was walking down the hallway, it was very quiet and I knew something was about to go amiss. I say tight held my below to my chest and suddenly this creepy, red-faced demon appears.

The demon didn't even bother to move at first, with a distorted and twisted face, jerky and unnatural movements alone were enough to make Josh scarer to his bones.

To be honest, after watching this movie in 2022, I've watched it over and over again and I'm now used to it watching scary movies do not kinda scare me anymore. I guess it's because they're becoming too frequent on my screens. No it doesn't scare me anymore

I'm conclusion, my favourite scary movie is a masterclass of psychological horror and perfectly creating suspense, tension and fear. The exploration of the supernatural realm of the living and the dead will leave you sleeping with the light on if you're watching for the first time and also not a person who loves horror movies. Can you face the darkness? If you fancy psychological horror, then Insidious is a must watch.
