Blue Moon Butterfly || 10% to shy-fox

in Beauty of Creativity2 years ago (edited)

These butterflies were captured somewhere around forested area. During the midday, they were very active, flying here and there which made me hunt to where it stopped. They have different in color, black and white-slight blue but their habitat is the same. It was easy to find this butterfly, all we need is time to capture them.

Known as Blue moon butterfly belongs to Nymphalidae in the order Lepidoptera. On the upperside, the wings are black with shining blue and distinctly marked with white discal and submarginal lines.

On the underside, the wings are marked as per above but all markings are much paler. So, I had to get rid of this problem if I wanted to have a good look of this butterfly. First thing first, I had to wait for the calmness by making a careful step toward this winged insect, and ensuring there was no any tall grass blocked my view.

H. bolina is a black-bodied butterfly with a wingspan of about 70–85 millimetres (2.8–3.3 in). The species has a high degree of sexual dimorphism. The female is mimetic with multiple morphs.source
