... no digital cameras or laptops existed, when you went to doors and rang bells. Photographs had to be developed in the lab. Crazy, I get real goose bumps!
But first things first: Thank you very much, @nellasvita for the foundagain initiative. I am so happy to share this story with you and it is sometimes like a therapy for me.
This picture was taken somewhen back in the years 2000 or 2001. It was not an easy time for me and my mother, our little family and of course for our whole family. My father passed away in the year 2000. It was one of the worst days in my life and I will always remember it. But sometimes in life, things happen and life has to go on. Wim, the guy beside me is still one of my best friends until today. He is the brother I never had. He comes from the Netherlands. He stayed in a chalet near mine for 7 to 8 years in his summer holidays in Bellwald in the Swiss mountains. I was an only child and Wim and I got crazy in Bellwald. We were all the time together, collecting stones in the mountains, finding some nice ones, swimming in an outdoor pool nearby or eating snails as a test of courage. Every time I think back to these times I get sentimental and the tears come to my eyes. Was it the best time of my life? Yes it was. Yes damn, it was.
This guy gave my so much back I couldn’t imagine it at that time, I know. He gave me some pieces of my childhood back as a big brother, that I never had. Then we lost a little bit touch, my apprenticeship started and he started his. When I was on my exams how life sometimes plays we found each other again. After I passed my exams I went to him to the Netherlands for celebrating our reunion and my exams, crazy I got tears once again......
Since then once a year we meet each other and celebrating our friendship together, sometimes in the Netherlands sometimes in Switzerland.
