SEC S17W1: "Let's Celebrate the Arts"
Hello my dear Steemians,
Today I wanted to invite you to this delicious challenge by RECREATIVE STEEM Community:
"Let's Celebrate the Arts" |
---|
Everything around us has its own beauty and exists in that moment of time, it is like a snapshot of our life because it is not only an image, a photo or what we have created, that is a something that we capture in our memory and that has our emotions and that will be saved in our mind as something special. Next time years later when we again come across to that particular object we will immediately have that magic "switch" button that will cause that euphoric moment and bring everything back, just like it happened a second ago.
For me it was a time when I re-started drawing and painting and that was an experiment that I was like immersed in this world of Art and have my goal to try different styles and to see how far I can get.
The early beginning of my childhood I was fascinated reading the Greek Mythology, I knew all the Gods and stories, I actually thought that this is everything true stories and they are all real. I was then sad when I realised that the stories are not real, still I was fascinated by the beauty of old Artists who created such beautiful sculptures, it was like people frozen for a moment in a certain movement or with emotion.
That is a reason why I wanted to do the sculpture of „Chryses“, who was staring to heaven and maybe praying, absolutely fascinating work and I was very much immersed in this world when I was doing this pastel work, I hope you also feel what I felt and like my pastel painting.
Another scene that I wanted to share with you today is the beauty of maritime scenery. When I did this painting it was new for me to use Acrylic paints, new art medium that I never used before and it was a chance to see how and with what kind of subjects it will work well. Maritime is something that forgives mistakes, do you want to know why?
The answer is simple, sky and waves do not follow any rules, they are one shape and colour but is constantly changing so you can create your own and it will be always unique.
The only important thing to remember is decide where the source of light like sun or moon but also direction of wind so that you can pay attention to sails and waves.
Seascape was one of the favourite for all ancient Artists maybe because in old time we were all fascinated by adventure, discovery and dreams.Even now present days we stun in front of paintings and try to find out what the author was thinking about what he was creating his work.
I would like to invite @davidad, @seikoh, @vivigibelis7 for this challenge
I had the exact same impression about Greek mythology as a kid - I loved it a lot and was re-reading it all the time, knew everything about gods and their symbols, about heroes and everything. And yep, this feeling when you understand, that it’s a myth.
My journey as an artist in the beginning also was about trying different mediums all the time, so when I finally figured out what works for me I had to give a lot of mediums for charity to clear some space for myself:)
Now I’m switching from drawing to writing and it’s an awesome journey as well:)

Thank you @inber for stopping by, I agree everyone who love art can not stay away from Greek history and culture, it is almost a classic to study the proportion of human body using the works of ancient Greek and Italian artists.
We've got this saying in my home language, "Mooi bly maar mooi." Something beautiful will always stay beautiful.
If I had to visit an art gallery and these two paintings were on display the Trojan priest would win. Well done!
You did his portrait justice. The color you've added made it come alive.
That is very nice saying and I completely agree with that. Yes, the Trojan priest sculpture was something that I fell in love with, that is why I always wanted to do do him, only was thinking about what to use, I am glad that I decided for pastel, it looks better and has more contrast rather than graphite pencils. Thank you, I am glad that you like my works :)
Saludos y bendiciones!
Thank you for your nice comment and I am pleased that you like my paintings. It is always good to know what other people think about our creation :)
I also love this sea motif and I am so glad that I choose these colours, often it is like a luck and we are surprised with the result :)
Greetings friend, wonderful participation with a good compilation of some of your work. Without a doubt, creating them is an immense emotion that remains every time we see it, even if days and even years have passed. Blessings and success!
Thank you Aless for reading and viewing my works, there are some time when we live art and I am glad that I was able to share it here :)
Saludos amiga @stef1 en ocasiones tenemos fijado el arte que deseamos seguir o plasmar. El origen griego es muy llamativo asi como el marino. Lo hace muy bien en cada pintura que se destaca. Le deseo exito. Dios le bendiga
Thank you for visiting my post, Greek sculpture drawing was one of the first in the raw of my sculpture drawings, when I used colourful pastel but still wanted to remain monochrome. Marine scene is eternal, I think nobody can stay untouched by such scenery maybe because we are all the children in our souls and still dream of adventure :)

Thank you @solaymann for supporting my post but also for supporting the comments, appreciate it :)
I am pleased to know that despite of being in different countries we have read the same books and were fascinated by the Greek history and cultures. Maybe because I loved the Greek ancient artists work I did my best when doing this drawing.
I love the sea, the most fascinating is reflection in water, that usually makes painting special.
Thank you for your nice comment :)
Why is it that what the Celtic, Greek, Romans, Germanics and so on believed in not true? Isn't that the essence of a belief even if there is no (scientific) proof?
Acrylic is a super paint works great on doors, beton and so on. To me it's the best.
I like your painting.
Yes, it is good story time to tell for children. I am glad that you like my works :)
