Did you fall for it?
Greetings dear friends and welcome 🤗 to my blog once again. It's another day of the week and I'm delighted to share my entry in this contest today. The contest which was organised by @graceleon has a deep meaning which requires much reflection and I'm delighted to reflect in it.
The title of this contest says Did you fall for it? I will be attempting the questions given by the organiser to enable me participate fully in the contest. Without further ado let's get started.
Holy innocents is commemorated here in Nigeria differently because it is not a day that the country takes into much consideration as it is only honoured by Catholics within the country. In the Catholic church this very day is consider a soloymity and hence there are breaks and public holidays for Catholic school and other Catholic establishment as it is seen as a Sunday or the day of the Lord.
In the church we reflect on how the massacre of children under 2 years old at the hands of Herod was carried out hence a prayer for their repose souls is made. This although is the believe of Catholics and not all Christians within the country. So the way we take the day is different from the way the protestant and other denomination takes and even the country at large.
In the case of the child Jesus, during the time of the massacre his mother and father took him to Egypt for safety. Currently considering the situation of Nigeria, if the child Jesus is born and his life is treatend I will take him to a near by country which seems more peaceful to me than Nigeria and that country is Mozambique.
Yes, I will take the child Jesus to Mozambique because over the past few years we have heard that complete peace has been restored to the country and everyone is living very happy. So in doing that the childs life will be spared and hia mission and vision will still be accomplished as planned from the beginning.
One of the jokes I have been played or witness on the day of the holy innocents is the joke of saying that thesame incident that happened years ago during Jesus's era will still play back in our country before a Messiah can come to our aid.
Indeed the country is suffering and we need a Messiah but not in a case of shedding blood as it was in the time of Herod. So I take this as a joke of the sectury because killing of people to protect your throne thinking that a child is coming to take over it is a share ignorance.
I'm sure that a community or land can still progress without the sacrifice of the innocent blood. Those are barbaric practice and Christianity has taught us that the sacrifice has been done once and for all.
Everyone who has human consciousness will always fall for someone innocent especially when he or she sees the the person suffering. No good person close his or her eyes when he sees his the innocent suffering.
I had an encounter once when I saw a young man who didn't commit an offence but was dragged and beaten by some other people because he was accused of doing it. After carefully investigation and seeing the sincererity in the guy I felt for him.
At the end, we all had to apologize to the young man because he was accused wrongly and also he was beaten unjustly. All of these are things that can happen and make you to fall for the innocent.
