NUMERACY TEST
Good day steemians!
Last week, there was an immediate report needed by the DepEd officials. They ordered every Master Teachers of each school to get the Numeracy Test Result.
The items were just about basic Maths, test 1 was all about multiplication, test 2 was about division and test 3 was about problem solving involving division and multiplication. This topic was on their Grade 3 level so I do believe that they all know about it. They will answer it without using a calculator. So, basically even theres jo calculator they all know it because the numbers were just small.
The challenging part was they were just given a minute to answer every part of the test. At first, they feel happy because the test was just easy but then when I told them that there was a time alloted in every part of the test, they were all shocked and felt so tense. My only motivation so that they will not feel tense and black out was that their scores were recorded but not graded. The only purpose was to test their speed and accuracy in answering basic maths.
I gave them instructions for 3 minutes and perform the task for 5 minutes. Their faces were all so challenged and they were all so active throughout the activity. After the short activity, we then had our lesson.
