Greetings friends of Recreative Steem, today I want to share two of my hobbies with all of you, as my first publication for this community. The first is about generating digital animations frame by frame, for this I use the Pivot Animator 5.2 desktop application, you can see a tutorial on how to get started using it at this link.

The second hobby (at a beginner level) is cell phone photography, which I am always learning about. Take the opportunity to demonstrate through an animated tutorial some rules of photographic framing, specifically the uses of the horizontal and vertical axes and the rule of three thirds.

La segunda afición (a nivel de principiante) es la fotografía con celular, de la cual siempre estoy aprendiendo. Aproveché para demostrar a través de un tutorial animado algunas reglas del encuadre fotográfico, específicamente los usos de los ejes horizontal y vertical y los regla o norma de los tres tercios.

Let's first define what framing is in photography | Definamos primero que es el encuadre en fotografía

FRAMING

Framing: it is the process of choosing what elements to include, how and where to place them within the image frame, (some cameras come with a grid of lines or you can download an app). Good framing is essential to achieve good photographic composition and enhance the visual impact of the image. Proper framing allows:

✅ Highlight the main subject of your photo.
✅ Create harmony between the elements present in the scene. (We will see this composition in another post)

El encuadre: es el proceso de elegir qué elementos incluir, cómo y dónde colocarlos dentro del marco de la imagen, (algunas cámaras traen incorporadas una grilla de lineas o puedes descargar app). Un buen encuadre es básico para lograr una buena composición fotográfica y potenciar el impacto visual de la imagen. El encuadre adecuado permite:

✅ Destacar el sujeto principal de tu foto.
✅ Crear armonía entre los elementos presentes en la escena. (Esto es la composición lo veremos en otro post)

The first thing to keep in mind is to locate the horizon line and keep it as a mental reference to organize the frame. Make sure your photos are horizontally balanced and don't crop important elements, leaving them out of the frame.

Lo primero a tener en cuenta es ubicar la línea del horizonte y mantenerla como referencia mental para organizar el encuadre. Asegúrate de que tus fotos estén horizontalmente equilibradas y no corte elementos importantes, dejándolos fuera del encuadre.

Crossing the horizontal line with a perpendicular line refers us to the two dimensions, ---horizontal and vertical---. This generates the graphic space of the photo. It has 4 spatial quadrants in which to distribute and place the elements that will appear in your photo.

Cruzar la línea horizontal con una línea perpendicular, nos remite a las dos dimensiones, -- horizontal y vertical--. Esto genera el espacio grafico de la foto. Tiene 4 cuadrantes espaciales en los cuales distribuir y ubicar los elementos que aparecerán en tu foto.

The horizontal - vertical axis allows us to locate the center of the frame that will be your shot. BUT! Using the center of the shot as focal point is not recommended by those who know about photography. They rather propose other rules, let's look at some.

El eje horizontal -- vertical nos permite ubicar el centro del cuadro que seria tu toma. ¡PERO! usar el centro de la toma como punto focal, no es recomendado por los que se saben de fotografía. Ellos más bien proponen otras reglas, veamos algunas.

The Norm or rule of three thirds | La Norma o regla de los tres tercios

A basic rule of framing and photographic composition is the rule of thirds. This rule divides the frame into nine parts using two horizontal lines and two imaginary vertical lines. They generate a quadrilateral in the center, it can be a perfect square or a rectangle depending on your purpose when photographing.

Una regla básica de encuadre y de composición fotográfica es la regla de los tercios. Esta regla divide el encuadre en nueve partes mediante dos líneas horizontales y dos líneas verticales imaginarias. Que generan un cuadrilátero en el centro, puede ser cuadrado perfecto o un rectángulo según tu propósito al fotografiar.

The objective is to use that central square or rectangle so that you can place the points of interest or the main elements either at the points where these lines intersect or along them.

This creates:

✅ A more balanced composition,

✅ Visually attractive.

El objetivo es usar ese cuadrado o rectángulo central para que allí sitúes los puntos de interés o los elementos principales ya sea en los puntos donde se cruzan de estas líneas o a lo largo de ellas.

Esto crea:

✅ Una composición más equilibrada,

✅ Atractiva visualmente.

✅ The rule of thirds is a useful guide for beginners, helping you locate points of interest at the intersections of imaginary lines.

✅ El encuadre fotográfico es cómo seleccionas, organizas y dónde colocas al sujeto y elementos dentro del marco de la imagen.

✅ La regla de los tercios es una guía útil para principiantes, te ayuda a ubicar los puntos de interés en las intersecciones de líneas imaginarias.
