In life there is always a challenge and the best skill is to have a positive mind and move forward, life is one and you have to take advantage of it with smiles and happiness.
You overcame your illness which you were justified by walking in vices, but the doctor diagnosed hyperthyroidism which you have treated very well and have been able to overcome it, every experience in a personal growth for you, with the best attitude you overcame every obstacle filling you with life and happiness, the challenges are to grow as a person either health, physical and financial.
