Daily contest#5@delightdear:tell me how important hand washing is for health.

Hi everyone,@delightdear is my name. I trust everyone in this community is doing great? I'm super grateful to @shcdaily and @ahyar92 for this great opportunity to participate in this contest. Hand washing is not a new thing, it has been there right from inception but just that people did not really place much importance to it like it is now. The outbreak of coronavirus has made hand washing very important now. Keeping our hands cleans either by washing or sanitizing is one of the most costless yet very important steps to take in order to avoid getting sick. When we talked about hand washing we mean washing our hands with soap in a running tap or water. So today, i decided to create more awareness about the importance of hand washing.

This is my in-law, after coming back from a meeting i decided to engage him in this contest. I encourage him to wash his hands with soap in a clean running tap.

How important is hand washing? Very important! Hand washing prevents spread of diseases. Dirty hands on the other hand can cause serious complications especially for young children. Mothers are encourage to wash their hands before making baby's food and after changing of nappies.

Another importance of hand washing is that it reduces the amount of antibiotic a person used. When we wash our hands, it will prevent us from getting sick. When someone is sick, the person takes antibiotic and in some point the person may develop antibiotic resistance. Sickness like diarrhea can be gotten from dirty hands and in most cases antibiotic are given to treat this health problem, so washing of hands can reduce the number of diseases like this, thus preventing us from overusing antibiotic.

Hand hygiene contributes to family happiness. We interact with people on a daily basis, and we can be infected through handshake, then we come home infected. When members of the family are safe from infection, the family is happy. Imagine the pain a sick child brings to the family, when your child is sick, as parents you are sick as well. More attention will be needed and money will be spent. This becomes a problem in the family but this problem can be avoided with something as simple as hand washing and the won't be any need to send someone to hospital. Germs are everywhere even in our home, we can be infected at places we least expected, so the importance of hand washing can not be ignored.

We need to wash our hands in order to handle food safely. Our food can easily be poisoned because of dirty hands. Proper hand washing is necessary if we want to eat healthy food. Luckily for us we have water, so we should set good example to those who are in environment where they cannot have free access to water. Let's wash our hands, let's spread the word, not the germs.
