Assalamu Alaikum everyone. Hope everyone is living their lives healthy and well. Today I will be participating in the Steemit Engagement Challenge S11-W4 in the Steem of Animals community. Our challenge is presented in conjunction with Happy World Cat Day. On August 8, World Cat Day was celebrated all over the world. I am starting today's contest by wishing all cat lovers like me a very happy World Cat Day.

Are you a cat fancier or are you a cat lover?

I am a cat lover and cat keeper. I don't know exactly when I developed such a love for cats. But in 2013, I first brought home a kitten from the street. Since then, my special love for cats has been at work. I have picked up two other cats from the street so far while fostering my cat. But unfortunately their flu has long since passed.

As a cat lover I don't just care for my pet cat. If ever I see a starving cat on the street I love to feed them. I don't know that this work gives me a lot of peace of mind. As a cat owner I always try to take care of my pet cat at all times. Keeping cats at home has made me realize that my love for animals is very strong. If I see any animal that is starving on the road I feed it. This work gives me self satisfaction.

Do you think that cats are unconditional friends?

Of course, I think of it as a cat unconditional friend. Because according to scientists, spending time with cats reduces human stress. And I got proof of it by myself. Like if I give an example in my case I am usually very tired when I come home in the afternoon from a long day at work. Then when I spend time with my pet cat my depression automatically starts to disappear.

And most importantly, when I'm at home, my cat is with me most of the time. Because since 2013 she has been living with me. So a deep friendly bond has developed between me and my pet cat since long ago. The most interesting thing is that only cat owners understand the happiness when an animal's unconditional friendship and love is found in our lives. That I have always achieved the love of my pet cat for me. Therefore, I believe that cats are unconditional friends in human life as animals.

What is your understanding of animal welfare for cats and efforts?

By animal welfare for cats I mean cats who are helpless and starving on the streets by bringing them under the Animal Welfare Act and providing a safe home for street cats. Another point I would like to mention here about animal welfare for cats is that those who physically harm street cats and cat owners who misbehave with their house cats will be punished. I present below the animal welfare efforts I have for cats.

• Pet owners should be notified of any cruelty to cats. And I will raise public awareness in my community about this.

• By rescuing cats that are starving and homeless on the streets, arranging adoptions for those cats with appropriate conditions so that homeless cats also have a safe home.

• I also have a desire to open a safe shelter for homeless cats. Where cats are provided with appropriate accommodation including good medical facilities.

• I think there should be severe punishment or fines against those who are cruel to cats as well as kill cats.

• Finally, raising public awareness of the importance of good animal welfare lies in treating cats with kindness and responsible care of cats.

Are there myths that develop in your community about cats?

The myth that has developed in my community about cats is that these animals possess a supernatural power. And that is to eliminate negativity in the house. It is clearly explained in our religion of Islam. If any evil energy is affected in our house, then the cat in the house destroys that evil energy or any effect of that evil energy can not spread on the house or the people of the house.

If I say from Islamic point of view, then I will say that cats have been given a high status in our Islam religion. Because our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to keep cats and loved cats a lot. Our Islamic religion has strict punishments for those who behave badly towards cats. So Allah Ta'ala has endowed cats with a miraculous power as animals which is very beneficial to humans. So I think I have never received any negative energy for having this cat in my home. The cat is a useful and loved vessel in our society. So we can represent a better nation by our kind treatment of all animals including cats.
