How you can cook oha soup with achi
Hello to everyone. I am happy to take part in this contest, in which I will be showing you how can cook oha soup with achi practically. I like eating oha soup, even though I was born and brought up in the northern part of Nigeria.
Oha soup is a very delicious soup, mostly eaten by people in the eastern part of Nigeria. I also love Oha soup although I'm from the north.
I learned how to prepare this soup from my aunt while leaving with her, though she mostly used fresh cocoyam for the oha soup which tasted so good. I would have loved to use cocoyam for this but I couldn't get good cocoyam in the market so I decided to use achi which is also good as well.
Ingredients used
- Oha leafs
- Achi powder
- Fresh meat
- Stockfish
- Crayfish
- Kpomo
- Peppers
- Onions
- Seasonings
- Salt
Step 1: wash your meat, put it in a pot, and place it on fire lower the fire so that the meat doesn't get burnt because water is not added yet, grand some pepper and onions that's after You must have washed them, put the grinded pepper and onions into the meat.
Step 2: Wash the stock fish and add to the meat on fire. wash your kpomo and cut into desired sizes then add to the meat and stock fish on fire, add some seasonings and salt to taste.
Step 3: Allow to cook properly until it's soft, you will need to grind your crayfish, well I added some pepper into the crayfish because the pepper in the meat won't be enough.
Step 4: When the meat is properly cooked, mix your achi in a bowl with water, then remove the meat from the pot leaving the stock of the meat, add some palm oil allow to boil and add your achi then cover the pot and also allow the achi to boil for some minutes.
Step 5: Put your oha leaves into the boiling achi then add your meat back into the pot allow it to boil for some minutes and your oha soup will be ready to be served with your desired swallow, well; prepare mine with eba.
