**SEC17 WK:#5: caring for aged and dependent relatives in the family

For this Week 5 of the Engagement Challenge for Season 17, I want to share about how I took care of my dependent relatives and how my family took care of them. I would also like to know that we were doing this happily.

When I read this competition carefully, I found that we do not just have to tell the details related to the care of the elderly. As I have written, taking care of the elders and keeping them happy is the moral responsibility of any family and no one can escape from it.

But if we show off serving our old parents, then I do not consider anything worse than this.

But here I would like to tell my story and also show how it changed my life.

When this story started there were only 3 members in my family, my wife and my only son, then on 10th April 2006 there was a fire incident in my city.

My wife's brother and his wife died in that fire accident. After the untimely death of both the husband and wife, no close relative was coming forward to raise their two boys, who were then aged 11 years and 8 years.

Then, following my wife's heartfelt wish, I took the responsibility of raising these two children without any pressure from anyone. And brought both of them to my home.

Many people told me that if you are raising them then where will the money be arranged from. Then I said that just as I am raising my one child, these two will also be raised in the same way. In those days, my financial condition was not very strong, the family barely managed to survive.

Then after bringing them home, I discharged all his responsibilities without any financial help, deducting my son's share of the expenses and my own personal expenses.

But these two boys did it by not lacking in anything, that is, by providing them with high level of education, tuition, clothes, best behavior.

And after spending about 12 years of strict control and upbringing, the first elder son got a government job after becoming a commerce master, this boy is holding a good position today.

And then after 3 years, the younger brother also did B.Tech Mechanical and today he too is doing online job in an American company.

I did not take even a single amount from any property, money or immovable property of these two children and bore all the expenses myself. And by the grace of God I never faced any shortage of money.

Then I sold their father's house, added some money from my own money and bought a 3 BHK flat for both the boys separately.

For so many years, I have borne the expenses of maintaining their properties to keep them safe. But I am completely satisfied that both of them have become successful people today and have their own houses and vehicles.

I did not do all this for any greed or gain, I just did it considering it as God's wish, and I have a lot of mental peace by doing this, I have gained a lot of respect in the society because of this work of mine.

By doing this I have not done anyone any favor, this was my destiny, it was written in my destiny, and perhaps because of this strong intention and determination I could do this.

Anyway, I feel that when God enables us, we should help the poor, the needy, the destitute and the economically weak from the heart, this will not reduce your wealth but will increase.
