Application for The Communities of the Month Support Program

I hereby apply for communities of the month support program as requested by you by means of this guidelines. I am so delighted to see this directives and to see that you care for the welfare of the communities in steemit. This has confirmed your drive for sustainable development.

Well, steemkids community is just a month plus old and we, the steemkids team will not hasitate to make our application to this program.

Community Purpose

What is the purpose of your community?
Is it unique?

Our purpose is to touch the lives of kids through steemit in positive ways. I our introduction post, we stated the below;

To create a safe future for our kids and unborn generations. We see a future where children are completely safe and have the best environments to pursue their dreams and aspirations through our community projects. We imagine a future where the steem blockchain powers real life-changing opportunities for children all over the world.

This purpose is unique because there is non like it. The users today will definitely grow old, unable to to the work in Steemit. But they will be replaced by the kids of today. Hence, the earlier the kids learn about steemit, the better.

Are there any other communities covering the same subject or area as yours?

Well, there is no other community in steemit that is covering the same purpose. The name might sound similar but the purpose is what we are concerned about.

Why should people join your community?

Steemkids community is a unique one. One of it's kind. There are kids around the world and every kid comes from a home or family. Touching their lives will inadvertently draw the family to steemit. Our projects like steemkids community ambassadors, School Runs and holiday projects are all unique. They impact positively on the kids around the world. We also have our Charity aspect. Where we intend to assist kids with unique problems and visit schools to render help to those in need.

What countries are they from and what languages do they cover?

They are from Nigeria and Venezuela and they speak English and Spanish

We will make addtions soon to cover other popular languages of the world because our scope is all over the world.

Are the team members paid or rewarded in any way from the community funds for their work in running the community?

It is ideal that the team members be rewarded from the community account for the work they do to motivate them to do more. But steemkids community have not started doing so because our resources are not yet covering the rewards we pay out to contest participants. However, I as the founder now f the community sometimes appreciate some of them that are really working hard from @ngoenyi's account. But not always. The community is blessed with self sacrificing team. We all believe in what the future holds and we know that when the resources improve, we will get a token from our work.

If you only have one Admin what would happen to your community if you left or lost your keys?

Well, it is not a good practice to run community alone owing to the uncertainties of life. It is therefore ideal not to work alone but to share the responsibilities with other admins to ensure continuity. But caution need to be exercised in terms of who to welcome as an admin. It had to be someone trusted and that has the same aspirations as the founder. It will not be bad to share some keys with such person. But I am not working alone as the admin of steemkids community. So no such fears.

Community Curation Account

What is your Community Curation Account?

The community curation account is @steemkidss

How much Steem Power does it have - both of its own and delegated to it?

It has 6562.06 effective steempower

What are your plans for growing the SP of the account?

My plans for growing the steempower is to encourage members to delegate to the community curation account which some of them have started doing already.

I will also be converting the SBDs that the account will earn to liquid steem and power up some of them.

Are all the post rewards powered up, or are they used for paying delegators or members of the community team?

Not all the posts rewords are powered up because, the contests participants are to be rewarded and the rewards are paid from the community account. For now, we are not earning what can cover the rewards to be paid out. As the founder of the community,

• I made a delegation of 5000 sp to the community account
• I also sent 1100 liquid steem to the community account. I powered up 500 and the remaining 600 is being used for the rewards payment.
• @peachyladiva, @mariajruisb and @goodybest all had sent donations to the community accounts. Their donations add up to 56 steem.
  So we have faith and hope that our earnings will improve and when it does, we will power up greater percentage after paying out our expenses.

Who has access to voting with the account?

All admins and MODs have access to it.

What is the current Voting CSI score for the account (from Steemworld.org)?

At 100%, the community account votes at $0.07

On average what proportion of the posts each week receive a vote from the community account?

Because we are new with a little steempower, and posts are not as much as it should, we ensure that we vote at least, 80% of the posts made in the community if not all.

Plagiarism & Abuse

What measures do you take to check for plagiarism and other forms of abuse (content farming, duplicate accounts, fake accounts)?

All the admins and MODs check most posts that are like to have elements of plagiarism in them using a checker to ensure that the community is free from such urgly threats. When we notice such things, we quickly advice the poster in comment section to do the needful. We are happy to announce that anyone who receives such advice quality makes the needed changes.

It is a must that all admins and MODs check for those urgly threats on a daily basis.

Do you have designated people in your team for plagiarism checking?

All admins and MODs do the check.

Do you work with the @endingplagiarism team?

We have not started working with @endingplagiatism for now because we are handling the situation promptly but we will surely need it in the future when we grow.

Do you ensure all photos used in your community are copyright free?

Yes. When we see ones that are not, we quickly send comments around.

Engagement & Commenting

Does the community team check and comment on every post in the community?

Yes, we do that. Like you know, we are just new and we have more hands. It is not a big deal for us for now but we will continue even when the publications increase because, we will add more hands to do the job.

If not, approximately what proportion of posts are commented on?

We comment on all posts made in the community.

Plans & Updates

How often do you post plans and updates for the community?

For now, I only posts as the need arises but as time goes on, apart from the ones that need to be urgently posted, we will do so on weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.

Do you post these through the community account?

Yes

Do you have a roadmap or long term plan for the community?

One of the road maps is to participate in the August I SPUD4STEEM promotion which if we win, will go a long way to grow the community's steempower

Yes. We want to recruit investors who will save for their kids. That is why we recently announced for community ambassadors who will take the massage to various families in their various locations.

My plan is to grow the community account to vote at $20 in the next 18 months and that is why we are targeting families. If they can save up for their kids, then it will not be difficult to achieve.

The long term goal we have is to make Steem a household name in every community. Not just to touch the lives of the kids but to also bring the kids to the system as they grow. The more we touch lives of kids around the world, the more we promote Steem to each and every of family.

Promotion

How do you promote your community?

I do so through the contests we host, both daily and weekly.

I and my team have designed a short comment that we drop at the comment section of some users.

Do you promote your community outside of Steem?

Yes. We intend to visit schools. We have fliers, and have recently printed notebooks for distribution to various schools during their functions. That way, it will get more publicity

Do you have a Promotion or Marketing Plan for your Community?

I have recently announced for the community ambassadors whose duties include among other things, to promote steemit in their locality. And these ambassadors are goin to come from different countries and cities. Imagine steemit becoming a household name, it will be awesome. That is what we want to achieve.
