Introduction

Good day steemians of this wonderful community, am sorry have not been active the way I used to be here, my phone got stolen few days ago and am still trying to recover from the loss, anyway it has happened it has happened, is now a thing of the past.

I thank @udyliciouz for still organizing an educative contest like this. This contest always reminds me of the few things i learnt in school that have forgotten.

What is an environmental problem?

Environmental problem is a problem that affects the occupants of the earth which are man and animals, it can be natural or artificial. In most cases, the natural environmental problem more dangerous than the artificial environmental problem.

State kinds of environmental problems.

We have mainly two kinds of environmental problem and there are also different kinds under each of them. These kinds of environmental problem is known as;

Natural environmental problem

• Flood is a natural disaster in which rivers overflows on the earth surface thereby destroying the properties of man as well as claiming their lives. It's mostly caused by too much rainfall, when the water doesn't flows towards any direction, it stays in the land.

• Earthquake is a natural environmental problem that has to do with the tearing of the earth's surface thereby causing separation of land and claiming the lives of man and animals. It often occur due to volcanic eruption and sometimes cause damages to buildings also.

• Drought is a natural environmental problem that occurs due to excessive lack of rainfall on the land, drought comes into existence when there's no rainfall for a long period of time. This will affect the lives of man as the plants and animals we manufacture for food will eventually die.

Artificial environmental problem

• Pollution has to do with damaging the serenity of the earth thereby making life uncomfortable for plants and animals. We have three type of pollution which are;

Water pollution
Air pollution
Land pollution

• Tornado and hurricane is an artificial environmental problem which has to do with the swirling of very fast wind which causes damages to buildings and also claim the lives of humans.

• Erosion is an artificial environmental problem that has to do with the slow tearing and washing away of the soil surface. It's of two types known as;

Gully erosion
Glacial erosion
Wind erosion

What are the causes of environmental problems?

• Pollution is one causes of it, when humans involve themselves in industrialization and negative activities that keeps the environment unhealthy.

• Flood is one of the cause when the water overflows it's bank without been taken care of immediately.

• When there's too much burning of bush as well as overgrazing, desertification tend to take place.

What are the effects of environmental problems to us and to our nation?

• Spillage of harmful chemicals has made our crops to get spoiled.
• Loss of lives and properties.
• Erosion which makes it difficult for farming thereby causing scarcity of food.
• Degradation of the environment.

How could we tackle or solve environmental problems

• There should be massive planting of tress to check the speed of wind.
• Facilities for preserving crops should be made available in case of famine the land.
• Refused should be burnt and not thrown inside water bodies.
• Factories should be built in far places from residential areas to avoid air pollution and so many others.
