Good afternoon friends, happy Sunday to you all. Welcome back to another episode of food contest organized by @steemkidss. I want to use this opportunity to thank @steemkidss for always organizing this contest. I have learnt a variety of food from different people through this contest. Today I will be teaching you guys how to make zobo drink, one of the most natural and nutritional drink found here in Nigeria.
WHAT IS ZOBO
Zobo drink is a drink gotten from hibiscus flower. The flower is called roselle or sorrel leaf. The drink has a bright red colour. The flower is mostly seen in Hausa tribe, in the northern part of Nigeria. The drink is a natural drink and has so many health benefits like.
Helps in regulating hormonal balance.
Helps in replenishing blood especially after childbirth and menstrual flow.
Helps in fertility.
INGREDIENTS
Zobo leaf
Cloves
Ginger
Pineapple flavour. You can use any flavour like apple, cola etc.
PROCEDURE
Select the zobo leaf to remove the bad ones from it.
Select the cloves to remove the bad ones from it.
Wash the zobo leaf and put it in the pot. while washing the zobo leaf be fast with the washing so that it does not lose all the nutrient in the water.
Peel the back of the ginger.
Wash it and slice it into pieces.
Blend it, I used pestle and mortar to blend mine. You can equally use blender.
Add water to the blended ginger.
Sieve out the juice and keep it aside.
Wash the cloves and add it to the same pot.
Add water to it and boil it for about 30minutes.
Wash the water cans you would use in putting the zobo drink.
After boiling the zobo, put it in a sieve to bring out the juice.
Allow it to cool.
When the zobo juice is cool, add the flavor and the ginger to the zobo juice.
Put the drink in the can.
Put it in the fridge to chill.

The zobo drink is one of my favorites, and the ginger you added to it made it more nutritious, i usually add pineapples to mine though, thanks for sharing your recipe.
