Greetings to you all dear friends in the Steem Kids & Parents community and the entire steem platform. It gives me pleasure coming your way through this medium. Drawing is bringing creativity to bear, therefore organising this contest at this point in time is a welcome development which will enable steemians to showcase their creativity. I therefore thank @eliany for organizing this beautiful competition.

I start my drawing from the head

Description of the Parrot

Parrot is one bird that is well-known as talking birds in Nigeria. They are part of the psittacines group in the order of Psittaciforme. They are generally known for their exquisite plumage of incredible colors and are intelligent with the ability to imitate human voice. They usually have large heads and curved hook-like beaks and long tails. Besides, they are generally very generous.

Where do they live?

Parrots mainly live in the tropical forested areas. They love to live in free habitats and live by digging holes in coconut trees. Popular with people who have them as pet, and are kept at home inside the cage.

What does it eat, tell us about the lifestyle of a parrot?

Parrots are birds that need food that provides them with all the nutritional values, hence they eat varieties of foods that include vegetables, nuts, beans, and protein found in grains. They also enjoy eating walnuts, almonds, macadamias, and shelled peanuts when they are kept as pets. Parrots eat small amounts of food.
About their lifestyle, they live for almost 40 to 50 years. They make holes in the trees and lay their eggs and leave it to hatch by keeping it for several months while looking after it. After their young hatch from the eggs, they take a few days to learn flying skills.

Are they important to man, what significant role do they play in humans life? Tell us the importance of a parrot do they have any nutritional value if we are to eat it?

Parrot are important bird to man. Around the world parrots are kept as pets at homes and findings shows that they bring peace to the home. Keeping Parrots at home also serves as man's entertainment. Another important of Parrots to man is that parrots are sold for money by rearing them. Having a parrot in our home is important to get rid of our depressions. Parrots are eaten in different countries as meat because of their nutritional properties.

If they are dangerous to man tell us their dangerous part.

Parrots are very friendly to humans and they are a bird that easily learns by mimicking what people teach them like a pet. But because of their strong beak and leg especially their nails, they can scratch the human body with those parts when playing with them. Apart from that, they do not really have dangerous part to man.

Do you encourage us to have it at home, what do you think?

Yes, as long as they do not constitute hazard, I can encourage us to keep a parrot in the house, they help to keep the human mind at ease by hearing their wonderful talk style. They are very beautiful to look at and keeping them in the house brings good luck to the house. They will imitate the man's speech and pronounce the words thereby becoming man's company.
