HOW TO PREPARE RICE AND PEPPER SOUP
Greetings to my fellow steemians,
How are you all doing today? I hope you all are fine. I am here once more to share my ideas and thoughts and I assure you that this content will be very amazing, interesting and educating.
Pepper soup is a very delicious delicacy that is made with quality ingredients which are both natural and artificial cooking ingredients. It is a staple and the favorite food of my countrymen eaten at an any weather conditions but favourable when the weather is cold because it is enjoyable and best eaten when hot so as to keep the body warm.
It is eaten with yam, rice or corn caramel called agidi in the Igbo language and I prefer eaten it with rice. Pepper soup is also prepared with special herbs and spices for newly delivered Igbo mothers who are observing their omugwo, this is a customary maternity leave which last for at least three months, it is a custom observed throughout Igbo land.
While observing this custom, special pepper soup is specially prepared with special spices indigenous to Igbo people, this spicy preparation has medicinal value that heals the mother and the child while in this customary leave and this pepper soup is usually eaten with boiled yam or with fufu.omugwo without this special pepper soup is incomplete, in fact there is no way this custom can be observed without this peppery recipe.
Pepper soup is prepared with the following ingredients which includes natural native spices like fresh red pepper which must be added with other indigenous spices like uziza, uda and some other medicinal herbs, when this ingredients are brought together the quantity of the pepper soup one intends to prepare determine the amount of ingredients one decides to use, what is necessary in preparation is to get the amount of fish or meat needed which should be directly proportional to the amount of spices needed.
Some of the other ingredients needed for the preparation of pepper soup include crayfish, onions, dried fish known as mangala, cubed spice known as maggi, and a very small oil and it is optional that is if you want to add it but I prepare mine without oil because it is not that useful. Pepper soup meant for yam and one meant for other foods does not have the same taste because many native natural spice are added to it.
Before you proceed, you must have prepared you're rice by parboiling it, then you have to get another utensil or pot and add your fish I mean the dried mangala add a small water to steam up the fish then after a while add enough water that will be used in cooking the pepper soup, after some minutes you put your uziza then get a mortar and pound your pepper and crayfish and after pounding, add the mixture into the boiling water and wait for some minutes.
If there is an available oil, you can add a very small amount to it then you get your fish which must have been spiced before the preparation, then pour it inside the pot and allow the mixture to get ready and before you know it you will observe that your food is ready.
Dear fellow steemians,I believe that I have given a detailed explanation of what this food is all about even it's health benefits, this food is a wonderful delicacy and I shared this with you all because it is my favourite! Once again, thank you so much everyone for reading this post.
