SEC17 WK:#1: Forgiveness unites family

Have anyone fake kidnapped in your family before, how will you react to that family member, will you forgive him or her? I will come back to that story so make sure you're following, paying attention till the end so that you would not miss the importance point.

If you're still wondering who the person is, my name is @mhizta from Nigeria. Welcome to my blog if this is your first time of reading my blog. We going to discuss about how forgiveness play a role in uniting family and secondly, my real life scenario of how forgiveness can bring unity to the family. Let's go.

To me forgiveness is a bond that bind families together because when family member forgive each other, it help to heal past hurts and build stronger relationships. Forgiveness open a way to an honest communication within a family and when family members are able to forgive each other, it leads to more positive and supportive home environment.

Forgiveness is not about saying "I've forgiven you" have you let go the anger and revenge? For example, let's assume I have a family member like @ogechukwu-martha, she started giving negative response on my post, down voting and flagging my post, I might consider to do the same to her, but along the way, she apologized and I said.. I've forgiven you" ... how about the stigma, will I let go of the revenge i planned? Now we want to look into the process of forgiveness in the family which we'll all benefit from using this scenario.

• Acknowledge the hurt: the first step is for her to acknowledge the hurt that has been done. In the scenario above, the acknowledge might be how the down voting affected me.

• The next step after acknowledgement is by taking responsibility for her own actions by admitting to the mistakes not about placing blame or pointing fingers to others.

• Then followed by sincere apology, when I said apology, I mean heartfelt and genuine. This apology should acknowledge the pain she had cause me, and she must show express of regrets and commitment never to down vote and flag my post again.😎

Now since she had apologized, forgiving her doesn't mean that I have forgotten about what she did, but it means that i have let go that desire i had to take revenge.That is what make a United family.

• Forgiveness help to create a more positive and trusting atmosphere within a family.

• Forgiveness Open way for stronger and more open communication, which is essential for maintaining healthy relationships.

• Forgiveness help to reduce stress and tension within a family, and it can promote physical and emotional well-being.

Now we have discussed why forgive in important in a family and the benefit of forgiving. That doesn't mean that everything will go back to the way it was before the conflict, it only open a way to build a new and stronger relationship. Forgiveness lead to a deeper understanding and appreciation of each other.

Back to the story about fake kidnapped which I mentioned in my introduction, My blood sister for that matter fake a kidnapped some years back.

That faithful day, she said she's going to her tailor to pick up some of her dress. it's was around 4pm, later in the day at exactly 7:00pm, we tried to reach her but unavailable, we were worried, calling different people whether they have seen her, we even inform the police, the next day, early in the morning, she texted me, and she said she had been kidnapped and she was trying to describe the location. Na so all of us haaaa, kidnaaap? our mind was not at rest that day, she said we shouldn't call her, only text. The mater was so serious.

Later in the day, at exactly 5pm, she came home,...how come?. She said they released her because they mistaken her for someone else. I was like.. "thank God" But, that was the beginning. After some week, we came to find out that it wasn't a kidnapped, that she fake it. If it was you, what would be your next move? after reporting to the police, everyone is aware,will you forgive?

She's our blood, blood is thicker than water, even after the atrocity, we forgiven her, and we are still a united family till today. Let me bless you with my family photos:

Am sure we are familiar with this quote "To err is human, to forgive, divine," meaning that making mistakes is a natural part of being human, but being able to forgive is something that's truly special. It's normal for human to make mistakes, but it takes strength and compassion to be able to forgive someone who has offended us.

In conclusion, though it's difficult to forgive someone who has hurt you or someone you love, but if there's forgiveness in the family, they'll be able to create a loving and supportive environment,making new and positive memories together.
