INTRODUCTION

Hello friends, I am here for the contest, my today food challenge is on our local dish.
You all know that I am an Akwa ibomite, Here in Akwa ibom state, we have so many local dish and I will love to share with you guys One of it.

Otor mboro is one of our Local dish from my State. It is a porridge made with unripe bananas.

Unripe banana has various nutritious and health benefits which some of us is not aware of it.

Healthy benefits of unripe green banana

  • It is a rich source of iron
  • It is a resistant starch
  • It's contain potassium and pectin.

Otor Mboro is a dish love by everyone commonly eaten by nursing mothers, here in my state because of the healthy benefits.

Some mother's usually give their Babies this food, Though they have special way they normally prepare it, but Incase you want to give your baby, all what you need is enough crayfish and little palm oil.

let's look at the ingredients used in preparing otor Mboro

  • unripe banana
  • palm oil
  • water
  • garlic
  • cubes
  • pepper
  • salt to taste
  • crayfish
  • onion
  • Periwinkle
  • Fish or meat
  • Vegetable

Steps on how to cook otor Mboro

What you need to do is get a basin of water, Wash your banana and then peel and scrape off the thin layer/long stringy bits covering the banana make sure you use the back of your knife.

After the first step, grate the unripe bananas with use if your grater.

At this point when you have finished grading the banana, make sure all your ingredients are well prepared.

how to cook your otor Mboro

Get an empty pot, put the amount of water you know that is enough for you to cook, when the water is boiled, add your fish, periwinkle, in short all your prepare ingredients to the boiling water.

Then when it it totally boiled add your red oil, use your and be cutting the grated banana and be puting in your boiling mixture.

At this point, you don't need to touch your pot again, when you are done, cover your pot and allowed it to Cook well and before you know the water will become very think.

When it is today Cook add your vegetable and cook it again for like a minute so that the vegetable can still be green.
After that remove your pot from the fire

No es tan difícil de preparar.
Todos los ingredientes son accesibles menos el cangrejo.
Acá es muy costoso ,quizás lo pueda sustituir por otra proteina 🤔
