INTRODUCTION
In the world of today, which is the 21st century, bullies and the act of bullying has evolved. Bullying is seen in almost every sphere of the human race, including the social, educational, banking, religious and even economic sector of everyone's lives.

DEFINITION OF A BULLY
A Bully is anyone or anything that has the tendency to be a threat to another person or thing. In other words, a bully is a person who always want to harm or threaten some other person. In such cases, the victim, is always smaller, more vulnerable than the bully. So the bully uses this opportunity to do what he or she likes to do with the person.

In today's world, we see young kids, teenagers and even adults being victims of bullies in our locality. Most times, teens bully kids. Other times it's adults bully teenagers. Kids are being bullied in schools by their senior colleagues or students in a position of authority. And if they try to say something, they are being reminded of whose the boss, and at such, they are limited to being heroes of themselves.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A BULLY
Here are some ways to identify who is a bully and this point need to be noted by the kids.

• A bully will always be aggressive and insulting.
• A bully is always having anger management problems.
• A bully do not follow rules.
• A bully have little or no respect for authorities.

HOW CAN KIDS WIN OVER BULLIES
Well for me, I'd love to say the different places where bullying takes place can be the starting point to reducing bullies in our localities. It might interest us to know that even at homes, siblings bully each other for food, attention etc. So I'll be breaking it down for the kids to understand. Also we cannot totally eradicate bullying in our locality but we can reduce it's level drastically. This is so because no matter how we try to fight bullying, there will always be bullies in our community. So below are some of the things we can do to reduce the level of bullying.

• AT HOME
  At home, parents should learn to share the amount of love they give out equally. Even though we know that naturally, kids will always want to bully each other no matter what you tell them. It's like using a cup to fetch water from a sea hoping to finish the water there. It's literally the same to poverty. No matter how we try to fight poverty, we will still have people on the streets that are broke. So also is bullying.
  At home, parents should learn to observe their children. Any child that has any characteristics should be disciplined. Discipline the child at home and tell him not to do stuffs that are not bullyish in nature as it has damn consequences to us in our environment. By doing doing, the parents help to checkmate the level of bullying in the society.

• AT SCHOOL
  At school, teachers have a role to play. Teachers also play the role as parents in the lives of kids in schools and so what they parents do at home, they should emulate and do so.

WHAT KIDS SHOULD DO WHEN BULLIED.

Kids should report bully cases to people in authority. Inasmuch as a kid reports any act of bullying to higher authorities, they authorities should see that the bully is disciplined and embarrassed publicly. This act of public punishment will serve as a deterrent to them.
