Your writing style impressed me, but some of your assumptions also seem wrong, like 20 billion population is too much, currently there are around 8 billion, by the time there are 20, perhaps our knowledgeable scientists will find some other place to live. You are absolutely right in saying that if there is only one child in a small family, the chances of him being selfish increases. Because he gets more love. Due to which sometimes we see that due to excessive love, the child becomes spoiled. He doesn't care about big or small. In a big family, people remain busy in their own work.
