#Update 61: Writing Expedition ✍🏻 Write On Thursday- "Child Labour"

Hi friends.. How are you doing? Trust things are moving as planned? Its my greatest pleasure to participate in this week's contest. Today, I will be sharing with you on the effects of child labour. Let's read on;

CHILD LABOUR

Work can be an important part of children's education and a means of transmitting vital skills from parent to offspring. In some countries today, children are often involved in workshops and small scale services, and gradually become full- fledged workers later in life. In other parts of the countries, teenagers works for a few hours a week to earn pocket money to support themselves. Such work is beneficial as it promotes a child's physical, spiritual, mental, and social development without interfering with his schooling, recreation and rest.

On the other hand, "Child Labour" is about children who works for a long period of time for low wages, often under conditions harmful to their health. This type of work is destructive and exploitative. Child labour takes many different forms. Most children are into domestic services. Domestic services doesn't need to be hazardous and dangerous, but it's often is. They are poorly paid or sometimes not paid at all. They are deprived of schooling, affection, play, care, and social activities. Child Labour is also vulnerable to physical abuse.

Poverty is the most powerful force driving children into hazardous labour. In poor families, the little contribution of a child's income at home makes a difference between hunger and survival. The parents of the child workers are often unemployed, which makes them to push their children into child labour. They are always desperate for a secure income.

Child labour is aggravated by a modern society that is preoccupied with the demand for low priced products. Few people seem to care that these may been produced by millions of anonymous exploited children. The effects of child labour on the psychological, emotional, and intellectual growth of the victims are grave. Such children are deprived of affection. Beatings, insults, punishment, being deprived of food are very common for children under child labour. Ultimately, most child labourers are condemned to lifelong poverty, misery, sickness and illiteracy.

In Summary, Child labour is something that parents shouldn't indulge their children to do. It has so many after effects on the child.
