Update #5: Writing Expedition ✍️ || Diary game

in Steem Kids & Parentslast year

Hello diary, I have tried writing to you this few days, but i have been really busy. Well I would love to tell you about my school's inter-house sports event.

I was selected as the house master of blue house in the school I am teaching and this meant I had to do a lot of trainings with my kids to perfect them in the field activities they were going to do.

Training of the pupils

The main event was the match past, and it wasn't easy organising them to perfection. But I knew what I wanted from them. I also taught them how to run, do fashion parades and other sports events.

On the D-day, We started with the match past, music was played by the school drummers. The way their hands held the sticks while they were hitting the drums was quite awesome. Our feet went with the beat of the drums in harmony and I saw the happiness and gladness on their faces. It was time for the salutation and the seriousness that ensued their faces reminded me of the Military match past I had watch some years back. The uniformity struck me, and I forgot that this were just kids that mostly were below 9 years.

This made me know that, no matter how small humans are, they learn very fast and can adapt to situations and challenges.

After the match past, we sat down, and I had bought a lot of gifts for the kids. The gifts were to spur them up to win. I promised gifts to those who will win in each event. My kids took first Position in events like filling the basket and 50 meters race. This brought the thought of how well humans can put in the hard work when they know the reward that comes with something. The kids knew the gifts they would get if they won and they had to work harder to get it.

But our strength in winning was declining, we didn't take first or second position in 3 other events. The cried back whenever they didn't win and I had to comfort them.

The event that broke my heart was when the kids lost in the tug of war, they all came back crying. I had to stop them from crying and encourage them that we will still win regardless. They needed that message of hope.

Humans always need that message of hope when they are down. Seeing the kids cry because of failing touched me, I nearly broke into tears but who was going to bring back their spirits if I did cry?

I increased the gifts, spurred up their spirits and they went to the fields and won in almost all the events that was left. I could see the joy on their faces once again. No matter what we go through in life, there is always happiness to be experienced...that just flashed my mind.

Well it was time for the results, pheeww, we were scared. Before that day, I had thought that the inter-house sport was just something we will do to make the children happy, but seeing the sadness on their faces when the lost in some events gave me a Rethink.

We waited patiently for the result. And the judge started from the least house, which was the yellow house; the children in this house cried really well, I could see sadness on their faces. And I wished I could walk up to them to tell them not to cry anymore.

Red took third position and then the moment we've all been waiting for....the moment the second position is announced, the winners will be known. We were all praying really hard not to be called as the seconders.

The prince and the princess

The second position goes to green house, announced the judge...we didn't even wait to be called up as the winners and we were already jumping and jubilating. The blue house was announced as the winners of the school's inter-house sports. My children were so excited, I myself couldn't go home. We rejoice with the trophy. Gifts were also given to the best pupils who did well. I also got a gift for winning in the teacher's race. And they got food and drinks too. I was so happy that I forgot to eat, after the rejoicing, I felt so hungry.

The spirit of sportsmanship

It was getting late and everyone had gone home. But I had to go and assist with cleaning up the field. It is always good to keep the surrounding clean of debris.

I went home feeling happy and proud.
My kids made me proud

I'm impressed by almost every word and pictures in this diary game. You did have a great day after seeing that your effort to put those kids on track wasn't futile. I guess their match pass went well as that's an activity that beautify a house. This inter-house sport event reminded me of one I participated in my secondary school days. Anyways, thanks for sharing. Looking forward to reading another post from you. The lesson I got from your post is;

This made me know that, no matter how small humans are, they learn very fast and can adapt to situations and challenges.

I'm really impressed by your choice of words there. Please endeavor to use #thediarygame tag when creating a diary game like this. Gracias.
