I Love To Take Photos: The Fields

INTRODUCTION

A field is mostly an enclosed area of land that is used in cultivation of plants and most times for sporting activities. Fields are most times large expanse of land. Examples of fields are a water leaf field, wheat field, rice field, football field.

Have you ever been to a field in a cold harmattan morning. Yes I have been privileged to take pictures of this cold beauty. I witness a fog that made visibility poor. I could only see things from 100 metres away. Well it was fascinating seeing it.

Some fields are very big, while others are small. The size depends on what kind of field it is and what it is used for.

Types of Fields

We have different types of fields for different purposes. There are:

• A football field: A football field is a type of field where football is played. It could be soccer, or American football. For professional fields, there are standard sizes for it, which are; 105x68 metres. For a standard football pitch the maximum length is 110 metres and minimum length is 95 metres while the maximum width is 75 metres and minimum 62 metres.

A football field is mostly made up of grasses which are planted to make sporting exercises simpler and injury free. Most times artificial grasses are used. But in our local sports field in Nigeria, some football fields are not up to standard. So we play on this fields we have here. As you can see in the pictures, some sets of footballers are playing football on the field.

• Cultivation Fields: This kind of fields are not sporting fields but are used for cultivation. A large expanse of land is kept aside to cultivate some crops like rice, wheat, sorghum and millet.
  Crops here are planted on large expanse of land as plantations and cultivated for commercial system of farming.

• Foliage fields: these are mostly green plants, flowers used for decoration. In this type of fields, flowers are planted on large expanse of land with the aim of using it as ornaments. This field is always beautiful because of its colouration.

I am not opportune to take photos of a foliage field. But I am planning to capture such beauty with the lens of my camera.
