I hope all is well with everyone as for me I'm good and happy to write about bullying since it is a long standing and lingering problem that has been there for ages.

WHAT IS BULLY?

Is a person who always look forward to harm or intimidate those whom he / she see as vulnerable.

DO YOU HAVE THEM IN YOUR LOCALITY?

Yes, bully is rampant, and can happen to people of all ages, children, adolescence, and adult, man and woman, boys and girls, gent and ladies. Starting from nursery school to higher institution and in working Place including churches

No, I am not.

HOW CAN KIDS WIN OVER THEIR BULLIES? MUST THEY FIGHT THEM TO WIN OR ANY OTHER MEANS?

  • They bshould not fight back, instead walk away from the situation

  • Hangout with your friends

  • Tell the older person, if it is in school tell the teacher, principal and your parents at home

  • Hold your anger

  • Avoid the bully, it area and being alone in any where

  • Be brave and ignore the bully

  • Talk about it to someone you love and trust for guidance and counseling

  • Avoid hurtful speach

  • Direct Bullying e.g shouting at someone and throwing something on someone

  • Indirect Bullying e.g false rumour

  • Cyberbullying e.g making hurtful comment online

  • Physical Bullying e.g hitting, knocking

  • Emotional Bullying e.g saying or writing hurtful things about someone

  • Sexual Bullying e.g unwanted touching and making sexual comment

  • Verbal Bullying e.g commenting on a person's appearance negatively, teasing

WHY DO YOUNG ONES BULLIED?

  • School climate

  • Difficult home situation

  • Low self esteem

  • Poor social skills

  • Physical appearance

  • Race/ethnicity

  • Gender

  • Disability

  • Religion

  • Sexual orientation

  • Poor performance in school

  • Low self-esteem

  • Insomnia

  • Depression

  • Suicidal thoughts and action

  • Stomachache

  • Headaches.

TO KIDS WHO BULLY OTHERS

  • They are violent and have other risky behaviors into adulthood

  • They abuse alcohol and drugs in adolescence till adults

  • Get into fights

  • Vandalize property

  • Drop out of school

  • Engage in early sexual activity

  • They are convicted due to criminal act and traffic citations in adulthood

  • They abuse their romantic partners,spouses, or children as adults

TO KIDS WHO WITNESS ( BYSTANDERS )

  • They abuse tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Miss or skip school

  • Feel powerless to help

  • Guilt for not standing up for the target

  • Fear of becoming the next target

TO THE FAMILY

  • Feeling powerless and confused, parents

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Stress-related illness e.g hypertension

  • Insomnia

  • Overprotective of their children

  • Guilt

TO THE SOCIETY

  • Increase school dropped out

  • Increase rate of crimes

  • Increase rate of criminals

  • Increase rate of presoners

  • Increase rate of rebels

  • Increase rate of drugs and alcohol addicts

SOLUTIONS TO BULLYING

  1. Boost your children confidence

  2. Set standards roles at home that guides the kids even outside home

  3. Teach them kindness, sympathy and empathy

  4. Spot out gateway behaviors and warning signs

  5. Create opportunities for oonnections

  6. Use the arts and creative stories while educating them on bullying

  7. Participate in simulations, this will help in reducing bullying

  8. Bring peaceful solutions to problems and conflict

  9. Set roles and regulation and enforce them

  10. Reward those who have positive behavior towards one another and those with bad should be punish

  11. Make communication open to everyone

  12. Monitor hot areas and group of people

  13. Have different method of discipline since each child is unique

  14. Listen well,ask questions and know what is happening around

  15. Take actions immediately to prevent bullying

  16. Connect them with others by setting study group discussion

Thank you for sharing your own points of view about bullying.
Bullying is everywhere in our society today and it is of different forms. I don't think we can ever put a stop to it, rather than applying some control majors.
