Creative writing : BALANCE BETWEEN COURTESY AND TIMIDITY

Courtesy is a moral conduct upheld and appreciated by the society. They are laid down rules, societal values and principles which people mostly young kids and adolescent must uphold in their daily activities in the public.

Socialization requires such courteous values to be out in place to ensure that people and general public live in peace and harmony.

These good courteous values important for young ones to imbibe are ;

• Greeting elders and parents whenever they are seen, a top moral conduct showing respect and reverence from young ones.

• Good table manners and proper use of the table cutlery, good table ethics and overall table hygiene.

• Daily personal hygiene such as brushing teeth twice a day, washing of dishes after each meal and washing clothes once they are dirty, wearing deodorants and shaving the pubic hairs when overgrown.

TIMIDITY

This can be seen in a different light as being in a state of knowing less of your rights, being comfortable with people infinging on your rights without complaining or showing disgust.

A timid adolescent could be undisturbed even if he or she is being owed his or her salary for a duration of 1 month. He would regularly visit work without demanding for his wage.

A timid individual cannot stand up to his right such as when falsely accused. The individual can hardly defend himself due to the fact that he is less outspoken.

A timid individual ends up being used by people and underated when he stands before his folks because he contributes less ideas which leads to insults and most times they settle for less. Which is very bad.

SALIENT POINT

Striking a balance between courtesy and timidity is crucial because it helps people know their boundaries. People know their place and should not exceed boundaries

You can tolerate jokes but when it leads to abuse or insults, draw a sharp line to stop it. Shun such an act to keep your dignity and self respect.

Greet your elders but do not go about worshipping the. When they are wrong feel bold to tell them their flaws. For an instance if you have a free that smokes alot, You can always tell him that it is wrong. Do this honorably in dignity and respect too.

Do not abuse privileges and always give who respect is due to. It is important to give each person the respect due to them.

Courtesy means respect, timidity can be changed when you know your good morals and do well to adhere to the good morals but shun all vices which tend to infringe on your rights and privileges too.
