Writing Expedition : A Son's Quest for Quality Time
Greetings to all ! I hope you're all doing well. I'm Afifa Noor, and today I'm excited to share a true story. I really liked the Weekly writing Expedition Concept from the @Steemkidss & Parents community, as it saves me the hassle of thinking too much. I can share my content daily, and since today is Thursday, I've wrote about story father and son I hope you all like this story short but very heart touching.
Once upon a time, in a small village in Pakistan, there lived a 10-year-old boy named Abdullah, the only son of his parents. Abdullah's father, a busy businessman, had little time for his son. He would leave early in the morning for work and return home at night when Abdullah was already asleep. Abdullah longed for his father's attention and playtime.
One day, when Abdullah returned from school, he was surprised to find his father still at home. "Father, won't you go to work?" he asked. "I have a flight to catch in two hours, so I'm about to leave," his father replied. Abdullah was disheartened to hear this and thought for a moment before asking, "How much do you earn in a year, Father?" His father was taken aback by the question and said, "It's a huge amount, son; you won't understand it. Why do you ask?"
Abdullah replied, "You're happy with your earnings, aren't you, Father? You're working hard for us, aren't you?" His father confirmed, "Yes, son, I am happy, and I'm doing it all for you." Abdullah asked again, "Can you tell me how much you earn in a day or half a day?" His father was surprised but tried to brush it off. Abdullah persisted, asking, "How much do you earn in an hour?" His father finally gave in, saying, "I earn around a thousand rupees an hour."
Abdullah ran upstairs, fetched his money box, and offered his father five thousand rupees. "Can you spare two hours for me, Father? I want to go to the sea, play with you, and have dinner with you tomorrow evening. Can you consider this part of your business?" His father was taken aback, tears in his eyes, and had no answer to Abdullah's question.
This story teaches us that while earning money for our children is essential, sharing our time with them is equally important. The greatest gift a parent can give their child is their time. Money can't buy everything; it can't replace the memories created by spending time with our children. The time we spend with them is invaluable and will be remembered for a lifetime.
