The Diary Game - 05 July 2024 : The Joyful Journey of Parenting

I start my day early with a refreshing morning walk in my garden, followed by prayer and some quality time with my plants and birds. Then, I kick-start my day with a nutritious breakfast consisting of two dates and a glass of warm water. This combination provides numerous health benefits and gives me the energy boost I need to tackle the day.

As a mother, it's essential to prioritize our health and well-being to ensure our children's well-being too. A healthy diet and active lifestyle are crucial for us to stay energized and focused throughout the day. Even though the kids are on summer break, our daily routine remains the same. We have our breakfast at 7 am, just like on school days.

After breakfast, I got busy with household chores - laundry, cleaning the kitchen, and tidying up the house. After a short break of 20 minutes, my duties as a mom began! First, I helped the kids get ready - bath time, changing clothes, and freshening up. My three little ones, aged 2, 5, and 12 , keep me on my toes! We discussed our plans for the day, and they shared their excitement about playing and learning.

My 12-year-old son, Manzoor, loves animals so much! When he went out to play, he came back with a chick in his hands. He was overjoyed and told me, 'I'll take great care of it and love it so much!' And then, my son built a beautiful enclosure using cardboard for the chick with great skill and dedication.

First, I sat them down to complete their schoolwork and review their lessons. Meanwhile, I started preparing lunch in the kitchen. We usually have our meals early, so I try to finish cooking by 12 pm. My daughter, who's 5, came to me and asked me to style her hair, which was getting tangled due to the heat. I lovingly braided her hair into a stylish bun, and she was thrilled!

Later, we all sat down together to enjoy our lunch - black lentils and rice with a fresh salad. The kids loved their favorite dish, and we all had a great time sharing stories and bonding over our meal together."

After lunch, we performed our prayers and I let the kids take a short nap as it's been extremely hot lately. I also took a short break and woke up at 4 pm to prepare tea for the family and cut some fresh fruits for the kids. My husband and I enjoyed our tea together and discussed our plans for the evening. We decided to take the kids to the nearby park, which was a great idea! We had a wonderful time together, and I even managed to capture some beautiful moments in photos.

The evening was lovely, with a gentle breeze and pleasant weather. It's essential to spend quality time with our children and listen to their thoughts and feelings. By doing so, we can strengthen our bond with them and help them develop good habits and values. As parents, it's our responsibility to be our children's friends and guides, and to ensure their lives are happy and safe.
