Update #5: Writing Expedition ✍️, How to produce local broom using palm leaf's

Greetings fellow parents and lovely kids

Many are using local broom's but don't know how to produce it. While many too are using modern 🧹 broom's. Any one you are using, all serve the same purpose which is sweeping though in a different ways. For example,the local broom can be used for sweeping the room and the compound. But the modern one can't be used to sweep outside. But can brush rugs, sweep and clean tiles and carpets thoroughly more than the local broom. To produce a local broom, this is what you need to do.

What you need to do here is to call someone who's job is to cut palm fruits to help you cut down the branches. Yeah! You get the leafs from the branches.

Some do use coconut leaf's for it but the best is palm leaf's. Once the branches is being cut down. You take it home or do the removing of the broom's right there in the farm.

I personally took it home so that it won't stress me much. Because I will make use of chair while removing the tiny stick from it's leaf.

I used Cutlass to scrape the leafs out from the stick. Below is the image of the leafs after scraping them out.

I now sat down to tear the leafs into 2 to bring out the tiny broom's. After tearing all of them, I packed them in a place, had some rest before coming to complete the final stage.

Some so use blade to remove or scrape the remaining out from the stick to make it a complete broom. But am using knife to do mine. But before then, I used a piece of clothes to wrap my finger in other not to be injured by the knife or some sharp broom's.

At this point, the broom production is done.

That's how to do it friends. Many are doing it as business while some do it for home use. So, if you can have enough of it, it fetches you a lot of money. Here in Nigeria, little quantity of it is NGN100. So, before you can get the quantity that can remove sand from your room, you might have spent NGN200. Many home's, shop's are making use of local broom. Many poeple in rural areas are using it to feed their families.
