Food challenge contest week #61|| For kids and parents| How to prepare porridge yam with Africa spinach.
Hello wonderful kid's, here is my food presentation
Yam is one of the foods mostly consumed in Africa. It comes with different sizes and specie's. But why do poeple consume yam so much? It contains a lot of health benefits. Do you know that yam contains a lot of fiber, copper, antioxidants and manganese? It also has the ability to boast our brain, regulates blood sugar levels and reduces inflammation. With all these listed above, yam is well recommend to our daily diet. One of the things I love most about yam is that, easy to cook and can be eating with only salt. Let's I forget, let me introduce to you the following ingredients that make up my food.
- Yam
- Fresh tomatoes
- Onions
- Africa spinach
- Palm oil
- Salt
- Seasoning cubes
- Pepper
Cooking steps
Firstly, I pilled the yam, sliced it little by little because it was porridge yam. Then, washed and put in the pot.
Secondly, I washed the spinach 3 time's adding salt to the water. It was full of Sand's. I washed the tomatoes and onions too, then sliced all of them. Remaining some fresh tomatoes and onions for the food decorations.
Done with the slicing, add the yam water and put on the fire. After boiling for some minutes, put salt and seasoning cubes to it. The water shouldn't be much because you are to mix everything together once the yam is done.
Yam doesn't take time to be done. So, withing 25 to 30 minutes it's done. So, the sliced spinach was added including the onions and tomatoes.
Cover the pot and allow it to steam for some minutes and the food is ready to be served. Because it was a contest and I needed to make something special, I sliced onion and fresh tomatoes and used it to design my food. And after that, this was the result below.
Come let's share the meal together. It can be eating any time of the day and has a lot of health benefits. Remember it was all about vegetables which helps to build up our blood and the whole body.
