I bring to you all a special greeting from this part of the world, with joy in my heart am very happy participating in this contest organised by @Steemkidss I found today's topic interesting so i decided to participate.

The earth is situated in space and is believed to be about 600 million years old. It's the fifth largest planet with a size of 443, 000.000 km.
The diamention of earth are:
Equatorial Diameter: of 12, 760 sq. km (7,976) and circumference of 40, 84km polar diameter of about 12, 722 km (7950m) and circumference of 39, 955km.
In the past, it was believed that the earth was flat and that it was situated in the middle of the unincrease but was wrong recent studies explains that the earth is round but flatten a little at the poles, this gives the earth it's spherical shape known as GEOID.
A GEOID: Is a solid body without only true geometrical shape.
The proofs for the spherical shape of the earth are:
Sunrise and sunset: it has been observe that different places on the earth surface see or experience the sunrise and sunset at different times. If the earth was to be flat all places would see the sunset and sunrise from the East and set on the West this makes the sun to be seen at different places of the earth.
Eclipse of the moon: During or when the earth comes between the moon and the sun, the shadow of the earth which is thrown on the moon is at ways circular or round in shape, this is only a sphere or circular object that can cast a circular shape or shadow.
Ship visibility: When a person or an observer stands in the coastal region observing ships appearing shore, will see only one ship at a time because others lie below the point or line f sight of the observer. Even the one ship appearing from a distance unvisen, the observer will first see the top like poles and then the hivs and finally the whole ship.
If the earth was to be flat both the poles and the whole ship would have been seen at once.
Circumnavigation of the earth: The earth has been circumnavigated innumerable times by land, sea and air (the first circumnavigation was by Ferdinand Magellan and his crew between 1519 and 1522) This makes it possible to travel round the earth from one point by air, land and sea from either east or west north or south, following the same point (starting point) and return back to the same point.
Circular or earth curve horizon: As an observer attitude increase the curve horizon of the earth widens centres it becomes circular.
This is an indication the earth is spherical in shape.
Aerospace photography: pictures or photographs taken from spacecraft by astronauts or astronist clearly shows that the earth is spherical in shape. Also photographs or all other planets and their satellites taken at great distance from the earth shows that the earth as a planet must also be spherical. An example of such study is the appol and mission
