The Diary Game for Saturday, June 8th | How I spent all my day at the farm harvesting cassava for garri processing |

in Steem Kids & Parentslast month (edited)

The situation and hardships that we are facing in our country have made everyone to go into farming, because as an Individual living in this country you will barely survive without if you don't involve your self in farming.
Garri is very important to humans, most especially students, and they normally say that garri is life.

Waking up that day I went straight to church as we had adoration and Morning Mass in the church, so I woke up as early as 5am and went to set things for mass because I am the one assisting the military priest.
I arrived successfully and went straight to the altar and prayed to God for keeping me alive and also protecting me from the evil ones.

Harvesting the cassava with my mum and siblings at the farm

After mass had close I received a call from my dad telling me that I should get prepared that we are going to harvest cassava in our farm for garri processing, I was very shocked and angry because I wasn't prepared for such even as I had better plans for the day.
But since he is my father, I must respect his orders, and I quickly went home and prepared myself for the great task ahead of me.

Garri processing has different steps that are really stressful.
And the first is harvesting is from the farm, I went with my mum and siblings and we wasted no time in harvesting the cassava in our farm, we were very lucky that it yield good and the cassava really enter the ground and anyone who sees it admires it because the soil is nutritional, the main reason why it yield good was because we always practice bush fallowing and it is working well for us.

The cassava was planted last year August, and it is not time it is ready for harvesting

Garri, also known as cassava flour, is very cost in my area, which has put everyone on a high shoe as nobody wants to spend such a huge amount of money just to buy garri.
A washand of garri is sold in my area for #5,000 and my family can't spend such huge amount of money to purchase garri, and we have a cassava farm so we quickly went an harvested it

After harvesting the cassava, I cleared a place that is free from sunlight so we can peel the cassava and also wash it in the farm, so I went to the nearby tap and fetch water the we will use to to wash the cassava and put it in the bag so I can take it to the engine for grinding.

We finished successfully, and I used my bike to take it to the engine that would grind the cassava and also arrange it for frying.

After successfully grinding the cassava at the engine, I arranged it and told the man that we are coming back the next to fry that cassava flour and he quickly agreed.
I came back home very tired and exhausted and I just went to bed and sleep.
Through out that day I didn't have the space to blog in steemit because I was very choked up with work.
