Mountains are high areas formed by greatly elevated land surface resulting from the intrude action of internal forces. Some have been formed by a service of volcanic actions and deny dational factors.
They posses sleep slopes and show prominent rouges.
Mountains are formed through flour processes and are classified to their mode of formation thus:
Fold mountains: These are the high mountain ranges which consist mainly of long paralleled and zigzag ranges they are found during large scale earth movement, which is caused by compressive forces acting opposite direction within the crust.
They are found in area where the crystal rocks have been acted upon by lateral Earth movement. This cause the rock to squeeze, producing the folds. The upfolds is known as anticline while down fold is called synclines. The upfolds form the folded peak where as the syncline formed the valley of depression of the ranges. For instance are the Himalayas, Andes, Alps and allas fold mountains are called mountain of elevation and are closely associated with volcanic activity in that they contain a lot of volcanoes especially in the circum pacific mountain system.
Block mountains: These are mountains formed when large racks in rocks causing blockd of crystals materials and rocks will be force up and down relating to another. The two blocks on either side may slide down, leaving the third middle block standing as a block mountain, it's caused by tentional or compressional force causing racks or faults in rocks.
Volcanic mountains: These are formed when tissue or rocks develops in the crust. The molten rock within the earth crust are powered out or the molten rocks solidities form of cones to form volcanic mountains.
Residential mountains: These are formed by denudational activities, where the general level of the land has been lowered down by the agents of denudation (e.g running water). There may also value from plateaux which have been dissected by rivers into hills and valleys, when this all takes place, some very resistants areas may be left and those form the residual mountains. For instance indance hill, and ekiti rock in western part of Nigeria 🇳🇬, deran mateaux in India and mount rock in U.S.A.

They have a very high range above seed level.
Fold mountains have anticlines and synclines.
They have slopes and shallow soils on them.
They have flat toes.
Some are normally.
They have concave slopes and sleeps - sided for instance blocks mountains.
They are generally associated with faults.
Mountains are very useful to man as follows;
- They provide defense during wars e.g Jos plateaux in Northern Nigeria 🇳🇬, during the war between Christians and Muslims.
- They make it possible for the development of tourism.
- Provide mountains posture for cattle rearing.
- It serves as important natural resources to human beings for Instance minerals, swift streams and forest are found there.
- They influence the formation of local climate.
- They receive heavy orographic rain and show which may lead to or give rise to important rivers.
- They provide swift streams that are dommed and used for irrigation and hydro electricity Power generation.
Excellent information on what are the mountains and the types of mountains, it is important to know about geography and relief greetings.
