SEC17 WK:#5: caring for aged and dependent relatives in the family
Greetings everyone, I believe you are all enjoying your week, I wish you a lovely week ahead, I am here to participate in the contest of the week.
I have a lovely family, my parents are alive and two siblings, my parents were very healthy as of 2 years ago but unfortunately my father became very ill making him a dependent family member, and we have been living with that for a while now.

HOW THE FAMILY HAVE BEEN CARING FOR HIM
I will seize this opportunity to thank my mother immensely for her tireless effort in taking care of her husband, she is the one who should be given the award because without her we would have lost him by now. So every month my dad will be taken to the hospital for a monthly checkup.
My brother will be providing financial help, while my sister and I will be providing physical help to ease my mother the all-around stress.
We will help in preparing his meal, he is eating a different meal from us, so it is tasking to prepare two to three meals at a time. But we do prepare it without complaint, my sister and I will help in washing his clothes and cleaning his room.
My mother helps him take his bath as he cannot walk or do anything by himself, so my mum will help him take his bath and feed him before going to her business, then subsequent ones will be handled by us.
He is my father, he sacrificed a lot for us to be who we are today, so we can do anything to make him comfortable in his sick bed, all the help we have been giving is out of joy and love not forced, though nobody can be happy to be in that kind of situation but since the situation is there, we cannot change anything we are happy because we can offer help and make him comfortable.

WHAT MAKES HIM DEPENDENT
My father is dependent because of both age and circumstance, he is an elderly person who has been diagnosed with a stroke, this is a condition that makes him unable to talk, walk, or do anything without someone's help, so it is tasking to take care of a stroke patient.
Due to his age, and lack of medical checkup then, his blood pressure became high and his sugar level became high as well which resulted in him suffering from stroke.
THE JOY DERIVED IN CARING FOR HIM
I am not deriving joy because my father is ill, but what gives me joy is that I can offer my part of assistance to him,
For example when he was newly admitted to the hospital. I stayed there with him every day, helping to change his clothes and feeding him, when he was discharged my husband and I contributed to his hospital bill and medication, so seeing that I was able to do all this gives me joy and I am still able to do it.
CONCLUSION
It is hard to care for a dependent family member, but since it Is a family member there is nothing we can do about it, it is our duty to pray for God's protection and strength to be able to handle the task successfully and also pray for God to keep them alive and restore their health.

I am so glad to hear that your mother cares so much for your father and is so happy with your parents that she dresses them, cooks for them and cares so much and I love it. It feels so good to see, it feels so good that I can't even tell you how happy I am at this moment because there are very few people like that.Those who are served so much and at first they were well but in two years this happened to them and after two years your help has not left them as it was before and is still with them and taking care of them so much and secondly, as you have told them that they have got a disease in which they can neither speak nor walk. It is spreading more and more, I thought it happens like this in Pakistan, but this is all over world issue, this issue is going on, so I would like to say that you should take care of your mother and your father
