Good day my dear friends. Hope we are enjoying the weekend. Good to be with you all for this weeks steemkids crypto academy. Last week, I introduced blockchain consensus mechanism. We explained what it was amd stated that there was various blockchain mechanism.

I thank the two participants who did well in last weeks steemkids crypto academy. They are @bossj23 and @ahbaz. They have been upvoted with the community account. The others who participated were disqualified for various reasons. I hope they improve on those areas pointed out.

We explored two types of blockchain mechanism last week. This week we will continue to examine other types of consensus mechanism.

The next type of blockchain consensus mechanismto be explored is Delegated proof of stake.

DELEGATED PROOF OF STAKE(DPOS)

In this type of consensus mechanism, delegates within the network delegate their voting power to other delegates by voting for them. Thus those who participate in the validation and running of the network are elected by other hodlers thru voting. Every one is eligible to be a candidate provided you are hodling the token and have met the minimum requirement for participation or to be voted for.

This type of consensus mechanism helps in making the more scalable. Any candidate who is validating the system but is inefficient in his duties, can also be replaced by another voting next time. The higher the number of the systems token a person has, the higher the number of votes he can give. In tron blockchain, one tron is equivalent to one vote. So the quantity of coin gives the voters more influence in electing their candidates who will validate, sign and ensure the blockchain works well.

Proof of Capacity

In this type of consensus mechanism, the validator must spend heavy sum of money acquiring hard disk space. The more the more disk space he has the more opportunity of being selected as a block validator. So much work is done in this type of consensus mechanism which involves plotting and mining. The high quantity of data which is referred to as plot are stored in hard drives. The more the quantity of data, the more the chances of mining a block

Proof Of Burn

This type of consensus mechanism requires that a miner burns a particular which enables hi buy a mining rig helping him to become a miner. The coins they are to burn is being sent to an unspendable address. The coin burned may be a native coin the blockchain or an alternat8v3 chains token. The more coins a miner burns , the higher the probability of mining a block.
The miners are selected on random basis and their earning are paid in the networks token.
