Greetings lover of kids. How are you all doing? Well I'm doing just fine. I'm pleased to participate yet in another wonderful contest in this community @steemkidss; developing children's creativity using plastics. I assisted my kid sister recycled plastic bottle into flower vase. Flower vase is used to hold the beautiful flowers in them. Plastic bottles can be recycled to make flower vase instead of throwing them away. This helps in waste management and also helps in taking care of the environment. This flower vase was made out of plastic bottle and fresh artificial flower was put in it.

Below are the material used;

  • Plastic bottle
  • Ankara material
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Cardboard and
  • Tape for measurement

Here are the steps;

Step 1: With my help, the bottle was cut into two using scissors.

Step 2: The bottle neck was taken, glue was applied, wrapped a little piece of ankara around the neck before fixing inside the other part of the bottle properly.

Step 3: One inch piece of ankara material was cut and was rolled around the bottle and glue it in place before putting the artificial flower in the vase.

Step 4: Using glue, the little pieces of ankara was used in sticking around the vase and was pressed properly for decoration.

Step 5:
Pieces of red cardboard was added to the flower to make it beautiful and colorful.

Step 6: MIMI was also sticked on the vase using ankara and glue. Since my baby sister's name is Mishael, she said she would love to put her name on the vase so everyone at home will know the flower vase is hers (funny!).

Conclusion

Creativity bring kids closer to their goals and makes them smart in school and their daily activities. Research shows that only 60% of all the plastic bottles are being recycled around the world and the rest of it end up in the landfills which takes about 450 years to decompose in a natural way. Reusing of plastic products helps reduce the consumption of energy to make new plastic and carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
This flower vase is not time consuming when making it and it's an amazing work to do with kids as well. Secondly, the vase is a great way to add to home decor without missing any budget. All thanks to @steemkidss for this wonderful opportunity.
