DIY is a simple or easy way you do something that people can see and understand easily. It is also the ability to be original, skillful, creative and talented in doing something in a practical way.
I am gifted to do many things with my hands. I can create things from my own idea through recycling of unwanted materials, craft or cooking. Another thing I can be able to do by myself is baking and icing. When it comes to baking, a person can make different snacks or food that he/she is good at. I love to bake cakes and cookies and design them to my desired style.

How I Feel When I Make Anything by Myself |

Being creative is joyous, each time I make anything all by myself, I am always very excited and proud that I have actually achieved something. Talking about what I use the things I made for; I make cake only on a purpose, it might be for birthdays, anniversaries or just to be consumed at home.
I will show everyone example of my DIY that I can do with ease. It is a cake recipe, I will show the baking and icing process.
The ingredients used and the preparation methods will be displayed below;

Flour | 1 and ½ cup |
Sugar | 2 cups |
Choco | 85g |
Baking powder | 1 and ½ tsp |
Eggs | 2 |
Vegetable oil | ½ cup |
Milk (warm) | ½ cup |
Hot water | 1 cup |
Part 1: Baking Procedures |

Step 1: measure all the dry ingredients ( flour, sugar and baking powder) into a bowl.

Step 2: mix all together.

Step 3: measure wet ingredients (egg and vegetable oil) and mix together with the dry. Add hot water and use electric mixer for just 2 minutes.

Step 4: put it into the pan and bake.

Sweet chocolate cake is out of the oven. I will join it with other flavors ( strawberry and vanilla cake) and ice using fondant.
Part 2: Icing |

This is fondant icing process. My fondant was ready so I will show how I got the beautiful design on the cake.
Step 1: I put all the cakes together (vanilla, chocolate and strawberry) and begin to trim in order to make the body smooth and leveled.

Step 2: I butter creamed the body and cut round fondant to cover the top.

Step 3: I covered and smoothen the entire body.

Yes, I paused and took a selfie of myself while working.

Step 4: I molded different sizes of balls with fondant and cut name to place on the cake.

Step 5: I used toothpick to pin the balls and water to glue the name on the cake.

Step 6: the last thing was to use gold glitters to paint all the gold colours on the cake.

My Advice to those Finding it hard to Participate in Anything DIY |
---|
DIY is very good because it improves your inner skills and creativity. Taking part in it will not only add value to your knowledge but also give you that self-confidence to stand out. I know DIY can frustrate someone at some point while in the process but the ability to be patient and determine is very important. In order to Do It Yourself, you must love what you do and have passion for it.

You have made a wonderful chocolate cake. Making cakes and mixing ingredients properly seems complicated to me. The most patient thing is to decorate it. This work has to be done very gently. Your chocolate cake is wonderful.
