1000 Days of Steem, My 3rd trial diary | Team Introductory Day for #thediarygame
We are all excited as #thediarygame phase 2 will start soon. Today we introduced our team and it went successfully. So, I thought to try another diary entry today. Let’s start!
Saturday | 25th of July 2020
If we keep aside what I mentioned before about our introductory post, all about today is raining. From the morning up to now it is raining here and all you want is a book, a cup of coffee and a warm bed or a couch. This rain has not stopped for days and it is due to the activation of the southwestern monsoon here in Sri Lanka. So, this weather will continue for more days. And….! We need more things to do inside home sweet home.
I went to bed lately yesterday as I have a huge work load these days due to my final year design project. Actually, I went to bed around 4am and obviously I didn’t wake up early in the morning. As I said before, our group is designing a biobased lactide production plant which uses sugarcane bagasse as raw material. Ohhhh…! I should mention you that I don’t go university these days as it is closed due to Covid-19 pandemic. So, we have to work from home and it was around 10am when I wake up.
I couldn’t go out as it is raining, and I did some work of the project while having a tea and some food. Some biscuits with jam, roti with chilli paste and a ripe banana.
As rain faded for some time, I went out and grab some Gotukola for a salad. Gotukola is known as Indian pennywort or Asiatic pennywort in English.
And my father brought 2 jackfruits and we split it and separate flesh called madulu in Sinhala. My mother made a curry from them by boiling them and adding some scraped coconut in to it. Then we had our lunch with other prepared curries and rice.
After lunch though it was still raining, I went out to have some photos as there were some parawi flowers which is called as pigeon orchid in English, and they bloom only time to time. As what I found out, these are native to Sri Lanka, India and several other Asian countries. It has a pleasant smell when they bloom.
Also, there were some bowitiya flowers near to parawi flowers. They are well known as Eight Stamen in English. They are purple coloured flowers normally found everywhere though we do not plant them by ourselves. This plant has small fruits that are edible, and our mouths become purple after eating them. Small birds love to eat them. Here I attach some snaps for you.
Then I started to draw a zentangle drawing and I could not finish it.
I did not contact my friends as my data bundle was over. When I could finally recharge my account…….Ohhhh!!!!!!!!!! it was a blast!!!!!!! My friends had tried to contact me for several time. As I said, today is our team introduction day for #thediarygame, so @randulakoralage has published the group post and then I posted my confirmation post.
Then I surfed through Steemit for a while until my friend Manodya calls me to continue the project work.
While doing, I suddenly saw a mugatiya, called mongoose in English, in our garden and I went out to have a snap. But I couldn’t as it disappeared quickly into the jungle. But for your concern, I’ll attach a downloaded picture of it.
If you don’t know about this animal, I should say you this. It is kind of animal that considered a threatened animal. They are native to Sri Lanka and India.
There is a story in our childhood about the cobra and the mongoose. We use “like cobra and mongoose” phrase when there are two parties who hate each other. This is because, the story says that they are enemies and they have fights each other. This fights only end by murdering one animal. As I have heard, these animals are immune to snake venom to some extent. If mongoose wins, then that land is considered as a lucky land. Sorry for taking that much time for this part but I couldn’t keep myself away from telling this long story.
Then again, I continued my work until I stopped for the dinner. I took my dinner while watching a reality show. Then I quickly started to type this as I promise my group member to continue project work after 10pm. So, today also going to be a sleepless night.
I am going to stop this here and wish you all good night. Thank you very much for your time. Hope to see you soon again.
